Nestled on the slopes of Mount Equinox in Manchester, our property is the ideal Vermont getaway for couples, families and small groups! The house is located atop a private road with twelve acres of woodlands ideal for hiking, snowshoeing, or even back country skiing. Or, if you're a shopper, you can enjoy the many outlets just a mile away! Close to numerous cafes and restaurants and only 15 minutes to Bromley and 30 minutes to Stratton, our home has everything you need for a memorable stay! Our modern, architect-designed, two-level house is built into the slopes of Mount Equinox. The house boasts unique features such as hardwood floors, picture windows, large deck and a full home office. You'll have two large bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with a queen bed, and one smaller bedroom with two bunk-style twin beds. There's also a queen pull-out couch in the second living area by the desk. You'll find a full bath on the first floor with a tub and another full bath on the second floor with a jacuzzi tub and skylight. Please note, this bathroom does not have a full shower but has a hand sprayer mounted on the wall, whereas the downstairs bathroom has a full shower should you prefer a more standard setup. You'll have the whole house and an additional 12 acres on the side of Mount Equinox to explore out back! Access to trails: There is a private driveway that runs behind the house. Look for the maroon and gold sign that says 221 Windsor near the end of the driveway. If you walk directly into the woods behind this sign you'll find yourself on an ATV/logging trail that traverses up the hill. The trail is on our land but it's really just that sliver for a little bit. Continue on that trail for about 100 feet and you'll come to a little landing with a driveway on your right that winds up the hill. Continue to your left at this point, following the same trail you've been on. In about another few hundred feet the trail turns right and starts to head up the mountain. From this point forward most of our acreage extends outward, up the mountain, in an upside down triangle pattern. You can keep following that same trail up and it is the side of Mt. Equinox. If you go really far our land ends but it's just all mountainous woods to explore no matter how far out you go. The trails are great for hiking when there isn't snow and snowshoeing in the winter. If you have a backcountry skiing setup it's steep enough to skin up and ski down and there are some nice natural glades way up (if you do this, ask us for more info). NOTE: Trail access is at your own risk! Please be safe and bring a phone and/or go with someone. Highly communicative via text or Airbnb message. Windsor road is the quintessential Vermont neighborhood in a quintessential Vermont town! We're situated high atop the town on the end of a private, dirt road. There are some other houses on the road but the location is very quiet and private, yet offers easy access to downtown via a 5 minute drive (about 2 miles). We have a large driveway for parking that's plowed. The road is also plowed but please note there may be slippery conditions in the winter as it is fairly steep and, since it's dirt, some residual snow remains after plowing. During snow storms, the road is plowed at noon, 5PM, and 7PM. 1) Please be aware that the house is situated on a dirt road at a high elevation, so is prone to winter weather elements not typically found in more urban areas. There may be snow or ice on the road, driveway, and walkways, so we recommend a four wheel drive vehicle or snow tires for access in the winter. Our driveway is plowed right up to the entrance but depending on how many cars you have and when the plow arrives you may have to shovel a short path to the driveway and dig cars out. There will be shovels, sand, and salt on site for your use. If there hasn't been a lot of snowfall the house is easily accessible, this is more a warning for times when we experience significant snowfall. 2) We do allow pets, so if you have allergies we can't guarantee that all allergens will be completely cleared before your stay. Our cleaning staff does an amazing job, but if you have severe allergies there is a potential for those to act up if pets have stayed before you. If bringing a pet, there is an extra cleaning fee of $100 per pet per stay (not per night). We LOVE pets, but have had a really hard time with pet hair after stays. PLEASE keep pets off of all beds and furniture, especially the living room couch, during your stay. 3) The upstairs shower has a mounted hand sprayer that is rather low so may be difficult for tall people (see listing photos). However, the downstairs bathroom has a full shower. 4) If more than six guests are staying, you will need to use the pull out couch on the second level in the office area. We have additional linens on site should you need them, but our cleaners should leave them out for you. 5) The stairs going to the second floor are definitely a focal point in the house, but a bit unconventional. The wood part on the steps is very slippery so please be mindful of this and try to step on the outside, wider portion of the stairs to avoid slipping. 6) Please note that there are neighbors in the area. The 12 acres of land is accessed behind our property, but where the house is situated there are other properties nearby.
