Charming, adult-only space in beautiful Historic Bethlehem. A convenient walk/drive to all sites including Main Street, festivals, restaurants, cultural attractions, Lehigh/Moravian universities, ArtsQuest and casino. We are a modest home among those built by legendary steel magnates and other industrialists. Private access. Free parking. Wifi, basic cable and TV apps. Minimum two-night stay. This one-bedroom, private area of the home has: a queen-size bed and sofa bed; dining room; kitchen; on-suite bathroom off of the master bedroom with claw-foot tub and rain shower; cable/streaming TV; and Wifi. Bathroom must be accessed through master bedroom and by using steep stairs to second floor. Well-behaved pets (additional $10 per night) are welcome but not allowed on any furniture and all furniture will be covered when guests arrive if bringing a pet. The apartment features original art by owner and an eclectic mix of mid-century furnishings. Guests have entire space to themselves with private access. Parking is free on street in front of the house or in back. Parking priority should be given to local residents when possible, and we can guide you on the best protocol. There are two steps to enter and steep steps to the bathroom on the second floor. Patio may be available if not in use by owner. Dogs must be curbed on the sidewalks, not in backyard as edible herbs are grown there. We are always available for information, recommendations, directions and questions. We are experienced travelers and welcome all those from around the world as they have welcomed us. Additional languages include conversational German and Spanish. Historic Bethlehem is the first industrial settlement in America. Founded by Moravian missionaries, it still boasts the original housing, chapel, inn, apothecary, tannery, waterworks, flax mill, brewery and college. Today, a vibrant Main Street, the SteelStacks, ArtsQuest, Wind Creek Casino and Banana Factory all provide diverse entertainment and are within walking distance of the Cinnamon Door. We are also home to Musikfest (the largest free music festival in the country), Celtic Fest and many other cultural events. Nearby schools include Lehigh University and Moravian College, and St. Luke's Hospital is within 3 miles. Although much is within walking distance, cars or Uber are recommended as public transportation can be slow and limited. There are public parking lots located on the north and south side of the river and street parking is abundant. Bethlehem is extremely safe although caution should be taken at night as in any other city. During festivals and holidays, late-night walking traffic is frequent and you can feel secure knowing that others are nearby. Live music in the summer months may be heard until 10 p.m. Wifi may slow down if multiple devices are all being used at once. During COVID, owners are working from home and must have WiFi priority on weekdays. Pets are welcome with an additional $10 cleaning fee per night. Pet sitting available for a fee. All guests are asked to remove shoes indoors and read the User's Manual on arrival for more detailed information.
