Poplar Cottage-On North Beach.
Our summer cottage and our favorite spot on the planet! While South Haven is undoubtedly one of the best summer destinations for fun on the beach, fall and winter provide peace and quiet in an area where many of the residents leave for warmer climates. In 2017, we totally renovated to make it comfortable for our guests in ways that we'd only dreamed of - custom mattresses courtesy of King Koil on every bed, new carpeting throughout, and a spa-style bathroom with tankless water-heater. South Haven is a summer destination. Many restaurants close for the season and the pace of the town slows significantly. If you're looking for a place to get away, off-season is the time to visit. Our cottage is quirky - it has four bedrooms but just one bathroom, and once you get into the shower, you won't want to leave (really - between the water jets and the backlit color-changing onyx, it's an experience you won't forget). The kitchen is a bit tight, but you really can get eight in for dinner if you try. The wood in the living room was milled locally around 1920 and we've never seen anything like it. We have decent Comcast Wifi along with smart devices including keyless deadbolts and connected smoke detectors. Indirect LED lighting in the living room provides a warm, inviting space to spend time with your family or loved ones, while color changing LEDs over the back cabinets offer a lightshow for you and the neighbors. We're pretty sure you'll like it. Guests reserve the entire cottage. There are no shared spaces. I am always in South Haven when guests are resident at The Poplars. I am available at anytime to assist you. Our cottage is located in an area known as historic Monroe Park - it's an area where neighbors are friendly and helpful, watch out for one another and often share a glass of wine as they watch the sunset over the water. During the day, it is active as people come and go from the beach. In the evenings, its generally quiet and peaceful with the sounds of the waves lapping the beach. It's a short walk of about a mile into town, or just a few blocks to the convenient store or bakery. South Haven is a relatively small town, but its still nice to have a car or rent a golf cart in town. You can walk into town in about 20 minutes, but the grocery store is a bit further out (Meijers would be about a 35 minute walk). While the cottage lacks its own parking, there is a public lot across the street for which you'll receive a guest parking permit for your stay. If you need additional permits, please let us know. 10% discount on 7 or more nightly rentals!!!! Discount will be reflected in your quote window.
