Cape Cod in Locust Grove, C'ville
In a quiet area, this warm upstairs bedroom has a large bathroom with full bathtub and shower, and closed off access to a toilet. We have dog-friendly outdoor space, fenced in with moderate size dog door. Located 1.6 miles from downtown Charlottesville and next to the Rivanna Trail. The bed's a full futon (orthopedic-type). We get many props on our decor. Guests must be pet and gay-friendly. WE DO NOT DISCRIMINATE against people of color, mental illness or physical disability. Our space comes with an adorable French Bulldog Dash, who is a fun, enthusiastic and friendly dog. Our neighborhood is close to downtown but not on a busy street--in fact described as a quiet street. Walking trails and creek are nearby. Please keep in mind if you are thinking of bringing your dog, the dog must be friendly to other dogs, cats, and furniture/belongings. We must know that your dog is coming too. We do not accept cats as guests. We have a fenced in back yard and a patio. I don't usually offer breakfast, but can help with something modest if in a pinch, like cereal, a bagel, or fruit. Guests are welcome in the kitchen and living room. With COVID we ask guests not vaccinated to wear masks downstairs. They will have mostly sole access to the upstairs, but sometimes we need to go into the office across the upstairs master guest room for office work or for Amy to use the treadmill. If we are here and the guest(s) comes downstairs, we will converse with guests, just check in with them and see if anything is needed. Otherwise we leave guests alone to enjoy their space. Locust Grove is the northeast edge of town, and it's older, away from the main traffic areas...the houses are modest to very nice, and there are full trees and wooded areas nearby, and almost always someone walking their dog, jogging or biking. It's safe, but always be smart with valuables in your car--keep it out of sight and keep the car locked just to be safe. If you arrive via River Road, the approach is through an industrial area. If you arrive via Locust Ave, the approach is very residential. Bus stop 3 blocks away. Some have walked or biked to and from town. Parking is ample. We have a fire hydrant out front but routinely our guests have parked in front of it without any hassle or ticketing. I promise. Park wherever you like, that includes in the driveway (ours is the one on the left facing the house); in front of the fire hydrant parallel to the street (really, no one EVER tickets), or across the street along the wooden fence of our neighbors.
