One of a kind, original Rehoboth Beach house. 2nd house from from the beach and boardwalk. Wonderful wrap around, screened in porch and lots of great outdoor space! *Rents weekly (Saturday to Saturday) in peak summer months. This house truly offers a unique beach experience. The house was built by my great-grandparents in 1929 and has stayed in the family ever since. They named the home "Adelmare," which is Italian meaning "by the sea". My family and I truly cherish this house and we are excited to be able to share it with others! The house is second from the beach and boardwalk, and just a block away from scenic Silver Lake. Open the windows to feel the ocean breeze in the summer, or cozy up next to the wood burning fireplace in the spring or fall. Adelmare offers a large, wrap-around screened porch and a smaller, more private screened in porch in the back of the house. The front porch is ideal for chatting with friends, reading a good book or having a meal on the large dining table. There are also two decks upstairs; one in the front of the house and one in the back. The decks are my favorite spot for enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning, or lounging in the sun in the afternoon. The stone patio, which holds four Adirondack chairs, is a magical spot situated in our tree-laden grove. Adelmare even has a shuffleboard court. Play a game after a day at the beach! The house is only a short walk or bike ride to Rehoboth Avenue, where you will find restaurants and shops galore. There are five bedrooms and three baths in the house. Four of the bedrooms are located upstairs along with two of the bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms have queen beds, and two rooms have two twin beds in each. The upstairs bathrooms are located in the hallway just outside of the rooms. The downstairs bedroom is located just off of the kitchen and offers a double bed, tv, and a private bathroom. This bedroom has it's own semi-private screened porch (connects to the kitchen and the rest of the house) and can be accessed separately if you choose, from the outside of the home. Perfect for those wanting some additional privacy! The living room offers a large, open space complete with a wood burning fireplace, flat screen cable TV, and plenty of seating as well as Wi-Fi internet access. Play a board game or have a puzzle going on the card table. Long, cushioned window bench seats provide the ideal space to curl up with a good book on a rainy day! The dining room, complete with large table, opens into the living room. The dining room also opens onto the front porch, through double doors, where you will find another table suitable for 6 or more. Plenty of seating, indoors and out. The kitchen, while nothing fancy, has all the appliances you will need including refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, oven, coffee maker, blender, etc. The washer and dryer are also located in the kitchen. We also offer 4 adult bikes and one double sea kayak, located in the garage. The kayak can only be used in the ocean when lifeguard is not on duty. Can also be put in the ocean on Queen Street at any time. Rules for kayak use are posted in the garage. Guests will have access to the entire property! This includes the house, the garage, the driveway, the shuffleboard court, both screened porches, both decks, the outdoor patio and any surrounding outdoor area on the property. Also feel free to use the beach chairs, beach toys and umbrellas in the garage, as well as the outdoor shower (un-enclosed). We do ask that guests do not go into or use the attic in the house, as it is only a storage space. While I will not be staying at the house with you, my husband and I live nearby in Rehoboth Beach. Feel free to give me a phone call or text for anything that may arise during your visit. I always enjoy meeting our guests! Rehoboth Beach has so much to offer including excellent restaurants and boutique shops. Take a look at the Guidebook for some of the spots that I recommend. There is always something going on in Rehoboth, including many festivals throughout Spring and Fall weekends! As mentioned above, there is plenty of parking available both during the summer season and during the off season. The Jolly Trolley is a great, affordable option if you want to check out Dewey Beach, our neighboring beach town. The Jolly Trolly runs from Rehoboth Avenue to various spots in Dewey Beach. Uber is another option. Otherwise, Adelmare is located within walking to the center of town. While I do not provide sheets and towels, you can rent them and have them delivered to the house through Grand Rental Station 227-RENT. I do provide paper towels, toilet paper, travel size toiletries, and other small essentials. Beach chairs, toys and umbrellas also available for your use in the garage. St. Lawrence Street requires parking permits during the hours of 10am - 5pm from the Friday immediately preceding MemoriaI Day through the 2nd Sunday following Labor Day. I will provide parking permits during these times to provide additional parking on the street for guests. Otherwise, the driveway can fit 4 cars. We do ask that you do not park cars on the shuffleboard court, as oil can leak and damage the cement. Please be sure you understand what we are offering prior to booking. Adelmare is an older, loved home that will make you remember what it was like travelling to the beach as a child - we hear that all the time! It's special and a "true" beach house and you are guaranteed to make many happy memories there. This home is older and while we have updated through the years, very much of it is still original. If you are looking for a luxury, modern vacation rental with all of the bells and whistles, this is not the property for you. Our competitive pricing reflects this. Please take care when considering your booking. Message or call in advance if you have any questions, we'd be glad to happy! Please be sure to consider purchasing travel insurance! There are many issues that can be resolved when travel insurance is purchased ahead of time and I always recommend doing so. You never know when an illness or family emergency may strike and derail your vacation!
