Cabin at Calico Springs -Bluegrass Bourbon Country
Welcome to The Cabin at Calico Springs, located on 150 acres with nine natural springs, a stream that runs year round, hiking trails, and beautiful forests. This cozy cabin features a great room with living, dining, and kitchen space. There is a private bathroom. The loft has a queen, a bunk bed (2 twins) and a twin. The downstairs has a wrap around porch with room for dining, swinging, and relaxing. There is a spacious porch off of the loft that is perfect for a hammock nap. There is also a pavilion for picnics, a fire pit (with wood provided), and a gas grill. Everyone loves the stream that flows year-round! About 100 yards from the cabin is an old tobacco barn that houses tools & equipment for Calico Springs Farm upkeep. Some rusty, antique relics are staged outside. Feel free to take pics, but we do ask that you & your kids don’t climb on anything to avoid risk of injury. We live on the property, but the cabin is separated from our house by several hundred yards & a treeline. We can be as interactive or hands off as you wish. The Cabin at Calico Springs is truly central to many Kentucky treasures. We are located a few miles off of I65, the Bluegrass Parkway, & the WK Parkway in between Elizabethtown and Hodgenville. Elizabethtown is in the middle of a downtown renaissance and features coffee shops, restaurants, and boutiques. We are close to the Elizabethtown Sports Park. Hodgenville - the location of Abraham Lincoln's childhood home - is a charming small town. We are just a few miles from Historic Glendale, the Whistle Stop Cafe, Tony York's on Main, and an abundance of antique shops. Bardstown and the Bourbon Trail are located about 20 miles up the Bluegrass Parkway, and Mammoth Cave is about a 45 minute drive south on I65. Fort Knox is less than a 30 minute drive. Finally, we are within an hour's drive of Louisville, home of Churchill Downs, the Kentucky Derby, and the University of Louisville. Lexington, Keeneland, and University of Kentucky are just a short distance away. There are 2 parking areas each has its own sidewalk up to the front door. Either way, you’re only 15-20 feet from car to door!
