**Update on Maui Fires - August 25, 2023** We were heartbroken to watch as the nearby town of Lahaina was devastated by wildfire on August 8 and 9. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by this terrible disaster. Fortunately, The Whaler and the surrounding resort area of Kaanapali Beach and destinations north were not damaged by the fire. However, out of respect for impacted residents and recovery efforts currently underway we will not be renting our condo for the next few months so west Maui can begin to recover. Operations at the Whaler have already begun to return to normal, and by December 2023 we expect our condo and The Whaler to be back to full operations. Many restaurants, shops, galleries, and other local west Maui businesses are already welcoming visitors, who are the life blood of the Maui economy, and that should continue as well. We have provided full refunds to all our guests whose reservations have been affected by the fire. As recovery efforts progress, we will continue to allow full refunds to any guest through July 2024 who may be unable to come to The Whaler due to the impacts of the fire. The Whaler on Ka'anapali Beach has a 24-hour front desk, full concierge service, and bell service. Features of the property include an oceanfront heated swimming pool and hot tub. Towel service is provided at the pool kiosk at no charge. The Whaler also has resurfaced tennis/pickle ball courts, a Nautilus gym, and sauna. The property is located just across the street from the world-famous Ka'anapali golf course. The Whaler has recently completed a major face lift designed to enhance its status as a world-class condominium resort. Improvements include remodeling the lobby, common hallway areas and oceanfront swimming pool; modernizing the gym, completely redesigning and installing new landscaping, and redesigning the underground parking garage. Rates from $295 per night, some peak times are higher. Within 30 days of arrival, last minute discounts may be offered to fill gaps between other reservations, check with owner for discounts. The Whaler charges a Resort Services Fee of $26 per day plus tax, which is collected at the resort. The fee includes underground parking, complimentary beach towels at the pool and chairs at the beach, use of gym, free washing machines and dryers in a common laundry room on each floor, tennis and pickle ball courts and equipment, and all resort amenities.
