WELCOME TO HANA, MAUI ~ THE LAST HAWAIIAN PLACE HANA KAI MAUI welcomes you to our beautiful oceanfront vacation rentals on Hana Bay at Waikaloa Beach. Oceanview 1BR/1BA Unit #103 'Helani' is a 1 bedroom / 1 bath unit conveniently located in the Mauka (upper) building. There is a King size bed in the bedroom and a comfy queen size convertible futon couch in the living room, tiled tub/shower combination, and tropical decor. This unit has a pass-thru window from the kitchen to the spacious covered lanai with glass table and chairs to sit, relax and enjoy the incredible view of Hana Bay! There is a 2nd covered lanai off the bedroom Our oceanfront property features exquisite grounds, beachside barbeque, fully equipped kitchens, private lanais, and free wireless internet service. Many of our units have panoramic oceanfront views where you can experience incredible sunrises and moonlit nights while turtles swim nearby in the surf. As you travel the beautiful Hana Highway through Maui’s untouched rainforest, you will be surrounded by breathtaking views, majestic waterfalls and a lush tropical landscape. Your journey ends as you reach the town of Hana. Here is unspoiled Hawaii, where you can relax and enjoy the true spirit of Aloha. The Hana coast offers some of Hawaii’s most beautiful beaches. From the black sands of Wainapanapa State Park (reservations required) to world famous Hamoa Beach, you can enjoy swimming, snorkeling or surfing close to your doorstep. Just eight miles away, Haleakala National Park - Kipahulu Division offers great scenery and hikers will enjoy a panoramic hike through the bamboo forest to Waimoku Falls. The trails at Wainapanapa will bring you to fresh-water caves or take you along the coast to spectacular views where you can sometimes see humpback whales as you hike along the cliffs. Fill your day with a stroll along the beach or find a quiet place to sit and enjoy the unspoiled beauty. Available nearby amenities include horseback riding, tennis, dining out or a relaxing in-room massage. Hana is a place where one loses track of time, where mystical days and tranquil nights simply unfold. Hana Kai Maui offers an unforgettable vacation for you and your family. All spaces are accessible to guests, with the exception of 1 small locked cabinet. Guests check in at the front desk and are issued keys to the unit. After hours checkin is also available via a lockbox and key code. We are fully staffed and will make sure the unit is clean and the linens changed before guest arrival. Our front desk is open from 8am - 5pm daily and staff are available after hours by simply calling our After-Hours On Call Manager. We have an informative guest book with extensive information on the Hana area, the sites, activities and services available in the area. Hana is known as the last Hawaiian place. Our community is still predominantly Hawaiian. Hana has a rich history and the Hawaiian population in this area once numbered in the hundreds of thousands. Today Hana's population is under 2000, from Keanae to Kaupo, a 40 mile coastal radius. Hana Kai is centrally located and easily accessible. The property is nestled along the North side of Hana Bay at the entrance to Waikoloa Beach. Although we do not recommend swimming (except on very calm days), Waikoloa Beach is wonderful to explore and you can actually walk for several miles on the coastal trail to Waianapanapa State park. Hana Bay is a precious resource to the community and you may see fisherman netting Akule, keiki swimming in the gentle shore break at Hana Bay, dolphins and sometimes whales, turtles along the rocks or canoe paddlers practicing for an upcoming regatta. Rental cars are a necessity in Hana. Public transportation is not available and the nearest car rental is located in Kahului. We do have a small airport in Hana if some of the group prefers to fly, but again no car rental in Hana. We offer WiFi free of charge. Our units are NOT equipped with Televisions or Air Conditioning. Units are cooled by gentle the gentle ocean breeze and we also have ceiling fans. Unit #103 is on the 1st floor of the Mauka (mountain) building. Easy access (no steps).
