Tucked away in a lush tropical garden, this downtown condo is private and quiet -- yet in the middle of historic downtown Kona and across the street from the beach! This true old Hawaiian complex is in the center of all the action on Alii Drive, but your second-floor garden view condo – nestled in sweet-smelling ginger and plumeria grove – offers peace, tranquility and rejuvenation. Walk to cafes, art galleries, entertainment -- everything! Complimentary: Parking, A/C, wi-fi, ice, quality tropical body lotion, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, gourmet Hawaiian teas, and Island chocolate! Plus boogie boards, cooler, beach towels, beach umbrella, noodles, Tommy Bahama chairs -- and lots of Aloha! Also provided: microwave, coffee maker, toaster, blender, electric skillet, rice and veggie steamer, grill set, all dishware, utensils, and paper products, even including foil, sandwich baggies, napkins and paper and plastic plates and cups for beach picnics! And just in case, also provide rain umbrellas, flashlights, hair dryer, laundry basket and pods, and an iron. There's plenty of bath towels, toilet paper and paper towels in this super clean unit in which my cleaners follow a four-page checklist in preparation for you. All you need to bring is your bathing suit and your dancing shoes! NOTE on IRONMAN: Complex is right on Ironman Route! Walk out your door to Alii Drive and you're there!!! You're only a half block from Ironman Village and a 7-minute walk to the Start/Finish Line!!! 7-night minimum. NOTE: I have 4 oceanfront units in this complex, 2 of which adjoin (Oceanfront Exec and Island Mermaid). For other listings, click on my profile photo and scroll down to see them:) Listen to the singing coqui frogs from your lanai each night and hear the waves pounding against the shore through your front door. You'll find a sunbathing beach just right across the street -- where sea turtles and dolphins make regular appearances! It's just a quick walk from your second floor condo to everything in Kona: restaurants, bars, coffee houses, an outdoor Hawaiian market and the Kailua Pier! And, the complex is right there on Alii Drive for fireworks, parades, festivals, art events and the Ironman World Championship! Step out your door and pick fresh bananas and gather plumeria … Walk across the street to the beach where you can watch dolphins, surfers and sunsets! Located in the middle of old town Kailua-Kona, this studio is only a two-minute walk to open-air eateries, live music and an outdoor market. But when you want peace and quiet, return to your private second-floor bungalow, furnished in funky-beach-chic style with Hawaiian mango wood, teak and wicker. You can see the pool from your private lanai, and the ocean and Alii Drive from your front door -- but the building’s location is such that you get none of the noise from either! And, this is one of the few units in the complex that has an outdoor fan on the lanai – incredibly refreshing on those warm Hawaiian nights when you’re sipping your cold drink and enjoying the glow of the Tiki torches that surround the pool, jacuzzi and BBQ area. An unusually large living area in this unit offers a comfy Jonathan Louis sea green couch, wicker chairs, mango tables and a flat screen TV with unlimited channels and music. Adding a bit of elegance to this shabby-chic beach decor, a white canopy netting wistfully hangs over the new queen-sized BeautyRest Silver Hawaii Offshore Mist mattress with an antique white wood head board. Each night, listen to the singing coqui frogs from the lanai and the waves pounding against the shore if you leave your front door open. The white washed Alpine tile in the shower makes it feel like you are in an old wooden outdoor Hawaiian shower. There are two separate mirrors and a vanity so couples can easily get ready for a day on the Island without getting in each other’s way. There is a small, but efficient separate kitchenette, perfect for preparing breakfast, lunch and light snacks. Although there is no stove in the unit, there are two large BBQs available in the pool area. Grilling utensils are provided for your convenience in the unit. The kitchenette comes equipped with a dorm-sized refrigerator and freezer, a microwave, coffee maker, blender, toaster, rice and veggie steamer, and electric skillet. Dishware and paper products are provided. However, with dozens of world-class beachside restaurants and cafes within a short walk, you’ll likely be doing very little eating at home! The immaculately-kept grounds are a trip back to Old Hawaii: Meandering paths through native gardens of plumeria, banana and coconut trees lead to a bamboo-floored and teak-furnished lobby, next to the pool, hot tub, lounge chairs and the gas grills. These lush, amazing -- and rare -- grounds are in stark contrast to the concrete landscapes found at most other Kona condos and hotels, where guests are typically charged for parking, A/C and wi-fi-- items you receive for free here. Located in the middle of town, you can easily walk to a multitude of world-class coffee houses, restaurants, bars, boutiques, art galleries, ice cream shops, and the Kailua Pier, where you can board boats that will take you on dolphin and manta ray swims, whale watching tours, scuba diving, snorkeling and fishing excursions, and dinner and sunset cruises. No need for a rental car, as it’s just a quick stroll to year-around music events, fairs, festivals and cultural sites, such as the Moku’aikaua Church and the Hulihe’e Palace. And it’s only a short trolley ride or drive to world-renowned beaches for surfing, boogie boarding and snorkeling. Or take a day-trip to Volcano National Park where you can witness erupting lava flows; Mauna Kea Peak, where there is snow year-around; or to the rain forests of the Hilo side of the island, where waterfalls and rainbows are plenty. Regardless of what you choose to do during your time on the Island, you will come back to your special Kona home, where you can enjoy peace, tranquility and rejuvenation! NOTE: 7-DAY MINIMUM for Ironman My tax identifications numbers are: TA-057-160-6016-01 and GE-057-160-601601. ANOTHER IMPORTANT NOTE: There is free on-site parking, but it typically fills around 4 p.m. The front desk can guide you to free parking on the Kuakini side late at night. Nearby on-street parking on Alii Drive is frequently available for free. If you chose not to rent a car, an airport shuttle to the condo is available for about $30 or a taxi ride for slightly higher. This is a no-pet and no-smoking complex. You may, however, smoke in a designated area on the property or across the street. Your unit will be spotless when you arrive and your linens and towels fresh and clean. There is not daily maid service provided, but if you would like to request a mid-stay cleaning or additional towels or sheets, arrangements can be made at an additional fee. There is also a coin-operated laundry on site. Try to arrive before 11 p.m. when the lobby desk closes. If you are unable to do so, please notify me so we can make arrangements for the key. If there is anything you need, please do not hesitate to contact me. You will receive directions from the airport, check-in instructions and house rules from me via email when you make your reservation. The majority of the units in this complex are privately owned and operated. Owners take great pride in their condos so that visitors — whether they be friends, family or paying guests — can all experience the same quality stay. I hope that you will make yourself at home and enjoy all this unique condo and Island have to offer! Aloha, Dawn Pool, hot tub, two large outdoor grills, tables, lounge chairs, laundry, on-premise parking NOTE: I have 4 other units in this complex, all newly renovated oceanfronts, 2 of which adjoin (Oceanfront Exec and Island Mermaid).
