Journey to The Palm Retreat for a relaxing stay! Our home was renovated in 2017 by my husband Ekolu, myself and our 3 year old (at the time) son Kainalu. It is a 3 bedroom/2 bathroom house that offers a large backyard for you to pop a chair up and relax with the grass beneath your feet and the wind blowing in your hair. The home is very cozy inside and outside. 3 bedrooms/2Bathrooms. There is a large variety of palms in the yard to pull up a chair and catch the fresh island breeze while enjoying a book or just to relax. The living area is very clean and comfortable. Minutes away from Pahoa town if in need of something to eat or would like to wonder the shops for that hidden treasure! Please note internet is spotty due to being in such a rural area. We are patiently waiting for high speed internet to become available to the area. We thank you for your patience. For 2 guests you choose which room you would like access to. For 3 guests you choose which two rooms you would like access to. For 4 or more guests you get full bedroom access. ***If bedrooms are not chosen before your stay we will best choose the rooms that will accommodate you comfortably.*** Master bedroom offers a King size bed (Medium firmness). 2nd Bedroom offers 1 Twin & 1 Full bed (Both Medium firmness). 3rd Bedroom offers a Queen size bed (Firm feel). Play, relax or tan in the large yard or go for a walk up the road. Covered parking with entrance door connected from carport. We are available should any questions arise. messaging through the airbnb app is the best way of contact. If you need recommendations for places to visit or restaurants to eat at we are more than happy to help! The island offers plenty of hiking adventures to choose from including ones in the National Park in Volcano town. The house is located roughly 30minutes from Hilo town. Hilo town offers numerous beaches to choose from Onekahakaha Beach park offers shallow waters great for the Keiki (children) to play. Otherwise Carlsmith Beach Park is great for those who enjoy a sandy ocean bottom and a beautiful grassy area for a lovely picnic. Here freshwater springs circulate up from the ocean floor and mix with salt water for a refreshing swim on a hot sunny day. Sea turtles frequent the area often and can be seen while snorkeling or just floating around. There are also showers available to rinse off after your swim and bathrooms to change in. After a swim we recommend heading to downtown Hilo for a shave ice(Hawaiian version of a snow cone) or an ice cream treat(Kula Shave Ice is our favorite spot for local organic shave ice!). Lots of cute local stores to look at for souvenirs/gifts to bring home for the Ohana (family). After a nice day at the beach or unwinding from a hike one can go to Pahoa town which offers a selection of different restaurants and shops. The neighborhood is quiet and offers privacy. The road to the house is a privately maintained road which occasionally has pot holes, best to drive slow. ***Please remember to practice social distancing, wear a mask and always wash your hands to help stop the spread! Mahalo.*** Car is the best way to get around. •Please be cautious while walking in the yard as the terrain is uneven. •The neighborhood is nice. The neighbors keep to themselves. (After 9pm please keep the noise levels down in respect of the neighbors). •There is a small tv in living room to access Netflix, however we recommend enjoying time with the Ohana (family) and all the beauty Hawaii has to offer! •Kid toys available. •High chair available upon request. •Pack’N Play available upon request. •Second Bathroom located in carport(light in carport is available for easy access at night). Washer and dryer are available free of charge however laundry soap is not provided. Road to the house is a private road maintained by the community association. Please be advised to drive slow as it is gravel and does get pot holes when it rains enough.
