This 800 square feet, 2nd floor unit was entirely remodeled in 2018 and offers a refreshing breathable atmosphere. Ceiling fans ventilate each room. The kitchen is fully equipped with pots, pans, utensils, cooking spices, and a coffee maker. Beach towels, beach chairs, snorkels, boogie boards, beach toys and umbrella shades are available for use. Free guest access to Netflix. For guest access, a smart lock on the apartment door allows guests to conveniently self check in (at or anytime after 3pm) and check out (at or anytime before 11:00am). Code details will be emailed after booking is completed. The apartment is located in a gated community, therefore guests will obtain a parking pass from the security desk/office for the duration of their stay upon arrival at the Makaha Valley Plantation condos. The assigned parking stall will be emailed to you, along with other useful details once booking is complete. House rules provided in unit, please read through them upon arrival. Washers and dryers located in common laundry rooms. Shared condo amenities includes access to 2 pools, 2 hot tubs, 2 kiddy pools, barbecue areas, a tennis court, and a basketball court. Guests have access to the entire apartment. The entirety of the apartment is private. We want you to enjoy your stay and would like to address any issue, concerns, or questions promptly. Oahu's west side is less crowded and less humid than most other areas of the island. Makaha Valley offers beautiful views of surrounding mountains and majestic sunsets. Explore long spacious beaches all along the coastline from Makaha Valley up to Yokohama Bay. Crystal clear ocean water provides wonderful snorkeling experience during the summertime (sometimes with dolphins!), and fun wave surfing in the wintertime. Enjoy walks in quiet, far from bustling downtown, with clean air and beautiful surrounding scenic mountain ranges. The property is landscaped with tropical plants and free roaming peacocks. There are several hiking trails in the area, one of them leading to the highest mountain peak of Oahu. Best mode of transportation is by car. However bus route to downtown is available. Driving by car from airport is 50 minutes without traffic. Famous Makaha Beach is 5 minutes by car, 20 minutes walking (1.5 miles one way). Access to other beautiful beaches by car within 15 minute drive. Please be aware that peacocks and chickens roam around freely on the property, and you may hear them make sounds at night or early morning. Peacock calls occur most notably during spring and early summer during breeding season. Waianae side of Oahu is located 40 miles from downtown Honolulu. Even though driving time without traffic may be 1 hour, the roads and freeways become frequently congested especially during rush hour, so I recommend checking "real time" traffic on a cell phone app for traffic. The place I recommend for eating out are listed on the guidebook section. Makaha Valley, and Waianae in general is very different from touristy, crowded Waikiki. Most of the restaurants and shopping places are locally or family owned. You will have a sense of a more modest island lifestyle around here. Waianae Coast is considered a "countryside" area on Oahu. The lanai (balcony) is a little smaller than 2 feet wide. You can walk on it, but it is not large enough to accommodate a chair for sitting down.
