However, if you prefer peace and quiet, this also is the perfect place. We always respect our guests' privacy. Quiet, lush, green residential neighborhood near main roads to popular sites around Oahu. Nice area to walk around; nearby park, convenience store, YMCA, and ancient Hawaiian heiau (holy site). A few minutes drive to Kailua town, where you'll find great shopping and friendly people. 5-minute drive to world renowned Kailua & Lanikai Beaches as well as Kalama Beach Park. Kailua itself is a great town to browse around; very relaxed and friendly atmosphere with many interesting shops and excellent restaurants. BUS SERVICE: Easy access to routes around Kailua and other parts of the island, such as Honolulu, Waikiki, Ala Moana Shopping Center, the North Shore, Pearl Harbor, and the Pali Lookout. RENTAL CARS: are available near the airport. PARKING: - Available around town. - Parking and facilities are available at Kailua and Kalama Beaches, though these lots do fill up early in the day. Parking in nearby neighborhoods is a good back-up plan. For Lanikai, no parking or facilities are available at the beach itself; mostly, people take the bus OR park at Kailua Beach Park and walk over to Lanikai Beach. We have two cats who are mostly indoors but free to wander outdoors during the day. They're shy yet friendly. I do my best to keep them out of the guest room to protect guests w/allergies. Out of the daily rate, I contribute to the community by paying all appropriate county, state and federal taxes.
