Hilo is a tropical city with approximately 130 inches of rainfall a year, it is not unusual to experience rain on a daily basis. Public transportation is minimal (no city bus line, 2-3 uber drivers, and taxi companies will usually give a 2 hour wait time if called same day). Walking is safe at any hour but umbrella, rain jacket and rain boots or rubber "slippahs" are encouraged. We cater to traveling health care professionals and medical students providing direct services to our island. Access is limited to provide the opportunity for healthcare workers to maintain a close proximity to medical centers providing Hawaii Island with much needed medical staff.
