This glamorous camping dome is one-of-a-kind destination for your honeymoon fairyland, fancy “glamping”, or just original getaway. With zero light or sound pollution, this private ranch offers you the perfect seclusion for star gazing while being surrounded by the most natural ambient sound. (Check out my other listings for more options.) Stepping into the dome, you get to enjoy your worry-free stay with a bathroom inside the unit. Wave hello to the friendly, free-wandering cows and pigs outside of your window. One king size bed OR two twin XL beds will be provided. Please let me know your preference while booking. [Suspended during pandemic until further notice.] On our private ranch, you can HUNT PIGS with locals and their dogs (reservation required). Hundreds of acres of wild guava trees makes it a perfect spot for scavenger hunts too. The shared kitchen is about a 1-minute walk from the dome, on the second floor of our house [Please DO NOT USE the shared kitchen during pandemic until further notice]. Croissant and coffee is provided. [Suspended during pandemic until further notice.] The dome and house both run on solar system. We are a small HOSTED airbnb site. We live in the house near the dome and we’re more than happy to offer any help through messages or in person. Suggestions to make your stay more comfortable are welcomed. The ranch is located in the center of the top three snorkel spots on Big Island, less than a 20-minute drive to each destination. You get to witness both snowy volcanoes and the Pacific Ocean from the dome in winter. It is about a 12-minute-drive from bottom ranch gate to the dome. Getting to the dome does not require a 4-wheel-drive vehicle. The ranch is conveniently located between Captain Cook and downtown Kona. It takes 15 minutes to drive from the dome to the coastline, where Forbes World Top 10 golf course the Club at Hokulia is located. You can find local restaurants, grocery stores, hospitals, art galleries, banks etc. within half mile from the bottom gate. There’s no A/C inside the dome, but most guests don’t need it! We’re at a high elevation (3200 ft) and it gets chilly outside at night. A fan is provided in summer and a heater is provided in winter upon request. Jackets and cuddling is how you keep warm up here ;) Since the dome runs solely on solar system, electricity and gas conservation is encouraged. If you happen to find our hot water not hot enough for you in winter, group shower is a solution to stay warm lol. Just kidding, 95% of guests are perfectly fine with our hot water temperature, just follow the manual while operating our hot water. It's exactly what you need to enjoy the off-grid lifestyle and escape the civilization for a bit. Our satellite wifi might be spotty depending on the weather. If you need consistent and reliable wifi, come to the community kitchen and have at it. Thanks for your understanding of our natural limitations as a remote ranch and that we offer "glamping" not hotel experience.
