THE LOCATION: Welcome to Hawaiian Gardens Retreat, a secluded 3-acre eco-estate. Just 15 minutes from the airport, town, and beaches, this luxurious, solar-powered sanctuary was created to provide an unforgettable personal or business retreat experience. Here you will encounter the heart of Hawaii, a place of quiet and beauty in nature. Enjoy hundreds of botanical specimens of tropical flowering plants throughout the estate. Stroll through the orchard and the gardens. Explore the native Hawaiian forest to discover rare and endangered species. Enjoy complete seclusion with incredibly convenient, 15-minute access to all that Kona has to offer, from best restaurants to beaches. THE RETREAT: Designed in classical Hawaiian style, with high ceilings and spacious lanais, and built with local hardwoods, the house features a modern gourmet kitchen with granite countertops and new energy-efficient appliances, a complimentary business center, large private bedrooms, and is decorated with art and furnishings created in Hawaii, Bali, and Thailand. The estate grounds include a private swimming pool, a pool pavilion, and a secluded outdoor shower to enhance your tropical experience. This is Paradise, no matter your purpose. Make it for just the two of you, or invite friends and colleagues. Hawaiian Gardens Retreat is ideal for business or pleasure. The house has two dining areas, with seating for ten. The kitchen is fully stocked with gourmet cookware, utensils, dinnerware, and table linens. You will find 100% Kona coffee with a French press and solar kettle, and plenty of other staples. There are three bedrooms. The Makai Master Suite (queen) includes a library, a Bose sound system, and a complete modern office with computer, printer, broadband internet access, and a full set of routine office supplies. The Mauka Suite (queen) offers private access to its own lanai and the outdoor shower, a Sony sound system, and cable TV. The Lani Suite (two twins) includes a library and an office area, with printer and monitor provided, and views of ocean and forest. Bathrooms are stocked with plush towels and bathrobes, and bed linens are 100% Egyptian cotton, 600-thread count. A very high-efficiency washer/dryer system is provided for your convenience. All electricity and hot water are solar-powered – no carbon footprint. The huge lanais, high ceilings, large sliding doors, and local hardwood floors complete the genuine Hawaii experience. Living areas are furnished and decorated with pieces collected on the owner’s travels in Hawaii and around the world. On the estate grounds you can also find the forest “imu,” an operating fire-pit nested among ancient ohia trees, and other secluded locations. Both the house and the Pool Pavilion can be set up with full amenities for yoga or for business meetings, including workshops, video-conferences, and dining functions for up to 10 guests. Hawaiian Gardens Retreat is locally owned and operated by a marine biologist, who is a visiting scholar at an Ivy League university and has lived in the islands for many years. He designed the house and the estate to harmonize with the natural beauty of Hawaii, furnished it with art collected from world travels and expeditions, then provided amenities for optimal work or pleasure in quiet seclusion, making it ideal for visitors looking for the combination of sustainable luxury and a genuine experience of island lifestyle. Please note the owners reside in the guest house. You will not be disturbed however you may see them in the parking area, while they are gardening or they are available if you need assistance. Our Hawaii Tax ID Number is W37563487-01. For information on additional equipment to support workshops and meetings, please contact owner. Check-in is at 4pm and Check-out is at 11am. Please note the owner resides in the guest house part of the year. CANCELLATION POLICY: 1. If you cancel prior to 3 months of your arrival, there is an administrative cancellation fee of $150. If you rebook for another date within the year, the administrative fee is waived. 2. If you cancel within 3 months of your arrival, after your rental costs have been paid, we will charge you according to the following: a. If we are able to rent your dates to another guest for an equal or greater amount, we will refund your rental cost, cleaning fee and damage waiver insurance fee minus the $150 administrative cancellation fee. b. If we are able to rent only a portion of your rental dates, we will charge you the difference in rental value and refund you the balance plus your cleaning fee and your damage waiver insurance minus the $150 administrative cancellation fee. c. If we are unable to rent your rates, you will forfeit your rental costs. In this case, we will refund you the damage waiver insurance and prepaid cleaning fee. You will not be charged the $150 administrative cancellation fee. We encourage all renters to purchase travel insurance.
