About this listing
This is a quiet part of our beautiful island and while you can see the ocean, you are in the mountains. The weather can get quite windy or cool in the mornings/evenings so some warmer clothes are recommended. This is a GREAT location for stargazing and for seeing the upcountry and visits to Haleakala. It is close to Makawao which is a quaint town with restaurants and cute shops. My favorite coffee shop is Sip Me with great organic juices and coffees! This is an upstairs Ohana so you will need to go up the stairs to get to the guesthouse. There is a large upstairs loft in the space that views the ocean from all 3 beds! The deck on this guesthouse has amazing views of the ocean and property! This is a great space for family gatherings as there is another cottage available as well!
There is a private deck with a spectacular ocean and property view and a large 2.3 acre fenced in property. We have many fruit trees around the property that you can harvest as you wish and are working on a garden to pick your own veggies! There is a shared washer and dryer.
My husband and I reside on property and are available to help with any questions or concerns. We are a great resource for things to do around the area and my husband is very handy. Both of us are willing to help with anything you need!
Our neighborhood is close to town yet you feel a world away. Olinda is known for tall eucalyptus trees that sway in the breeze and emit an amazing smell that brings peace and tranquility to the neighborhood. It is very dark at night so don't forget to put the outside light on before you leave for the day. The darkness is what makes this spot so great for stargazing! In Makawao, my favorite restaurant is Makawao steak house and I love rodeo market or Sip Me for green juices and smoothies in the morning!
There is parking available for this listing and you will need a car to get around Maui...Public transportation is not easily accessible from our guesthouse.
Other things to note
We are on an agricultural property and the grass grows so very fast! It can get muddy and the mud is red in color and hard to get out of carpets. Please remove your shoes before entering the cottage - Hawaiian style! WE HAVE NOT INCLUDED the 13.41% Hawaii Transient Accommodations Tax because you would have to pay the AirBnB fee on that so to save you their fee WE WILL SEND YOU A SEPARATE INVOICE for the tax. PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS STATE LAW THAT WE ADD THE TAX...Sorry!
