Amazing Stay! Recommended!

My family spent three weeks at this house on Anini beach in July 2018. First- Jo was amazing to work with and provided a wealth of information before we arrived. The house is basically beachfront and the view out the front window is amazing. Anini has a natural barrier reef so this location is great for young kids and snorkeling and we saw multiple turtles snorkeling out out the front door and down the street by the boat dock. There are also a bunch amazing waterfalls and secret beaches nearby- do NOT miss the queens bath at sunrise!! (The road past hanalei was closed when we were there but hanalei itself was open and the food trucks there are fantastic!! ) also go to the putt putt/botanical gardens, the lighthouse and the chocolate farm tour(requires reservation) all are within 10 minutes of the house. We had some fantastic sunsets while we were here. There is a great 3 mile run un and down the road right outside the front door and it is gorgeous at sunset. The house itself has everything you need to cook meals for as long as you stay- including a crock pot! I would say six could comfortably stay in the house for an extended period of time. The beds are super comfortable too!! It is basically two bedrooms and two single beds off the main room. My kids (11 and 13) chose the beds off the main room and were very happy there. The house has a washer/dryer- and we hiked all the glorious hikes we could so that was a huge benefit. The house has no air conditioning which worried my kids since it was July but we were fine- every room has a fan and the screens let in the cool night air even in July. Wr have been to Kauai twice (last time we stayed near poipu) and i would definitely come back to this house for a future trip!!! A great base of operations for a Kauai trip!!! Mahalo Jo!!

About the Host

Born and raised in Northern California, I married a 'local haole boy' and became immediately enamored with Kauai, most especially with Anini Beach. After Hurricane Iniki, I did search and rescue with the San Jose Mercury News for 6 weeks, locating 'missing' family members, and delivering tools, building materials, money, and notes of love from Mainland family and friends. I also did fund-raising for the Seniors and children in the little town of Kilauea, making Christmas and the new year a little brighter. At one time, I was considered the Kauai online expert to AOL when AOL was new. I love Kauai and Anini Beach, and enjoy sharing my knowledge and home with those who want a memorable vacation in Paradise with their family. For your personal knowledge, and to learn more about who I am, please review my professional history on www.LinkedIn.com, and search for Jo Chisholm. You may also search for my daughters on this site: Julie Chisholm, PhD, or Wendy Chisholm. Sometimes it helps to know who you are doing business with before renting a vacation home for the first time. (A licensed CA Real Estate Broker, BRE 00633697, since 1978) Anini Beach is one of the most beautiful spots on earth. I spent my honeymoon there 40 years ago. It is one of the most romantic places I have ever been to. My husband was born in Honolulu and raised on Kauai, mostly at Anini, and we spent the summers and holidays there with our daughters. Our oldest has twin daughters and they have started their own Anini tradition. It is a wonderful place to spend vacation time with your children, which is what Hawaiian culture is all about. What makes my home unique: Waking with the sun rise, coffee and a walk on the beach, incredible sunsets during most of the summer months, watching for the 'green flash' from our deck, usually no waves on the beach to worry about, helping your little ones feed the crabs at dusk, reef walking at low tide, being able to let your children run on the beach most months without worry. Peaceful relaxation. No steep stairs to climb...
