Incredible Duplex located in the heart of the beautiful historical Patan (50 meters away from Patan Durbar Square and the Golden Temple). This renovated Rana house has kept all the attributes of a golden era: high ceiling, crystal chandeliers, authentic wooden balconies…. Composed of a huge kitchen/living room, a master bedroom with attached sunny roof terrace and en-suite bathroom and a queen bed mezzanine room. It can comfortably hosts 4 to 5 people. Give it a try, live like a king! Very spacious royal Duplex located on the second floor of a renovated authentic Rana summer palace, circled by wooden balconies. The apartment is composed of a living room /open kitchen, a master bedroom with attached roof terrace, a mezzanine room with queen bed, a bathroom with modern toughen glass shower and an other WC/ laundry room. The flat is equipped with AC that can be used for both fresh air and heating (in living room and in master bedroom), HD TV with comfortable sofa space, 3 working spaces, equipped kitchen with all facilities (cutlery, glassware, pots and pans, fridge, microwave, oven, grinder, toaster, boiler...), washing machine. The apartment is totally independent, guests can enjoy it fully! We are always happy to help our guests out with anything they may need and have a nice chat with them. Our guests can conveniently find us every day in our Cosy Nepal Office located in the ground floor of Yatachhen House on Swotha Square (100 meters away). The Old Patan is a fantastic area to stay in. It is much more authentic and traditional than touristic Thamel or Kathmandu and its heterogeneous concrete jungle. Here, right in the middle of a UNESCO heritage sites, you will be surrounded by many treasures: hindu temples everywhere, Buddhist stupas, hidden courtyards, secret paths, monasteries, local food spots... In addition, the vibrant local life of the Newars (the original ethnic group of the Kathmandu Valley) guarantees you a very rich cultural experience. On arrival, you will receive our Cosy Nepal handy guide book that contains all our best local tips and recommendations to have the best time in the old Patan. Note that the Old Patan isn't a party area . There is plenty of very good restaurants and local food spots in our neighborhood but most of them will be closed before 10pm. At night, the area is very quiet. If you are looking for night entertainment please take a cab to go to Jhamsikhel or to Thamel. PS : Local government has came up with idea of reconstructing the street in old Patan. Unfortunately, it is causing some disturbance with road traffic here & there. Please note that you have well read this part of update before making the reservation. Located in the Balcony house, just in front Uma Maheshwar Temple. • Situated in the heart of Patan historical city center (Kwalkhu Chowk/ the Golden temple) • Less than 50m away from Durbar Square and the Golden Temple • 500m away from Patan Doka (Patan’s gate) • 20 min walk away from U.N. House, Sanepa area, Kupondole area • 20/25 min ride to Thamel • 20 min ride to the airport. Taxi can be found in Patan Dhoka and Durbar Square at all time of the day and night. There are two big public bus stations around (10 min walk away from us): Lagankel and Patan Doka. From there you can go down to Kathmandu Ratna Park and to many places and villages around. As a general fact, we discourage our guests to be systematically brought back by taxi or car until our front door (beside the first day of course!). The old Patan is a very fragile area and cannot handle too much traffic and pollution. Ask the taxi to drop you in Mangal Bazar or in Patan Dhoka and have a walk in all those beautiful small alleys and courtyards to reach our house, you will enjoy it very much;-) Cleaning is done for free twice/ week (bedsheets changed once/week)- If you don't need cleaning, you can just hang the "no cleaning" copper board at the door ;) Gas, water and electricity are very precious resources here in Nepal, please use them conscientiously. Small problems related to those resources can always happen, we are reactive to fix things once informed but you need to be aware that Nepal is a country where you have to be adaptable ;-)
