Recharge on our peaceful porch, sit around the crackling fire pit, listen for the call of an owl or whippoorwill. Skip rocks or wade in the nearby creek. Enjoy all the peace, tranquility, & natural beauty our getaway affords. Lots of nearby outdoor recreational activities. Some of our ceilings are 6'6". Instacart delivers! Y'all means all! The Creek House, on a small hill overlooking expansive fields & tree filled hollers, is a perfect place to get away since it is a few miles from busy streets & stores. Walks can take you along a fabulous freshwater creek, formed from rare black slate. Our old cottage has some endearing features and offers modern conveniences like dishwasher, microwave, internet (15MB, fastest for area), & roku TV. Phone service works best with internet calling. Bedrooms are spacious and the lounge could serve as an office or extra bedroom. There is a hallway closet where you can find extra necessities, incl. small table for office use. Our lower ceilings (common in cottages from this time period) help contain heat and air conditioning, while offering a unique comforting feeling. Great parking available for cars and boats. You will drive on some narrow roads and hills to get to the cottage. No street lights near home, though the creek house has solar powered motion activated flood lights. Rural lane with no street lights or traffic sounds (~1 car passes per hour). One other house about 0.5 mile away. Fields and hills abound. Small stream on property that leads to nearby creek. Bring bikes for country biking! Fire pit & corn hole boards for relaxing. Amazing stargazing. When it is time for your stay, we will share driving tips so you can take the most direct paved route to the Creek House. 2 cars park in driveway near house with several other parking spots on property. Easy to walk or drive to nearby creek to frolic in the water. Some local roads can be one lane, so politely pull over to let someone pass.
