"The Chambers", formed from the sleeping quarters of the former Inn at Oak Hill, is convenient to Williams College, Williamstown Theatre Festival, Clark Art Museum, MassMOCA, Fresh Grass Festival, Jiminy Peak, Bennington College, BerkshireStock, VAST trails, and many other destinations in southern VT and western MA. Comfortably furnished with amenities such as Wi-Fi and satellite TV, this suite also surrounds you with beautifully preserved and original historic architectural features. You will be surrounded by ten foot ceilings, original unpainted woodwork, and many other notable architectural features from the 1880s. This is a fully equipped second floor apartment with private entrances. Please be aware that the stairway is curved, slightly steeper than normal, and equipped with plenty of handrails. There is a laundry room on the premises for your use as well as outdoor seating, chiminea, and BBQ. Your host Doug now offers an affordable private service for his guests of any age or ability as an alternative to the typical ski area instruction options. Inspired by the 1968 Winter Olympics, Coach "K" taught himself to ski on a hilly backyard pasture in the Berkshires. Soon he was racing NASTAR under the lights at Mt. Tom. Doug began teaching in the 90's and is now approaching his 53rd year on skis & 20th as a Certified PSIA Instructor. Most recently as a USSA Alpine Coach and Official he has been teaching young racers of all age groups at Mount Snow Academy and Mt Greylock High School. During this time he has helped athletes obtain their potential coaching at the J4 Jr Olympics and Can-Ams, J3 ERS, U16 Eastern Championship and Am-Cans, and ultimately at the USSA U18 National Championships at Copper Mountain. He has also coached at the FIS level at venues including the FIS Eastern Cups, EISA and USCSA collegiate races. Contact Doug directly by text or phone for details. "We'll have fun and learn!" Location, location, location! "The Fork" is the most central location to be. Easy to find (day or night) and drive to, unlike many places in Vermont that are unlit and on unpaved roads. This gem of a house is on 3 acres of land set back over 100 feet from the intersection of Routes 7 and 346. Its 1880's rock solid construction combines with 1950's era storm windows (when closed) to provide a surprisingly quiet interior. Living here ourselves while running the "Inn", we and many of our guests always marveled at the fact that we could be so close and yet seem so far away! Plenty of parking and easy access to all points of interest whether nature, art, music or athletics call! We've also added a special layer of disinfection and sterilization to our already high quality cleaning process to address any guest concerns. So now you can escape the city and enjoy this clean, beautiful and spacious property in Vermont, the healthiest state in the union!
