Newly renovated, secluded, bright, quiet apartment above our detached garage on 4 beautiful acres with streams and paths for walking, skiing & snowshoeing. Dedicated internet with wifi and a desk can accommodate working or learning remotely. Plenty of space for your outdoor gear. Minutes to Vermont State University, Vermont Studio Center, the Long Trail, VAST Trail, and Stowe, Smugglers Notch, and Jay Peak. Nordic ski trails nearby. We make maple syrup (otherwise known as "sugaring") on our property and if you are here in the right season (late Feb/March/early April), you are welcome to participate! All of our guests are given a bottle of our maple syrup to enjoy with breakfast or take home. Coffee, oatmeal, and pancake mix are provided for breakfast. We provide a smart TV, games, and puzzles to keep you busy between adventures. We have some available gear for babies and kids (including a pack-and-play, baby gate, and high chair), so please feel free to ask if you need anything. Bedding is available to convert the couch into a bed for a third guest and we provide plenty of warm, fuzzy blankets to help you get cozy. We know the area well and are happy to make suggestions for local outings and to help make arrangements for your stay. Guests have access to the entire apartment, their own private deck, plus the yard, trails, and rivers. My family lives in the house across the driveway and is available if you need us, but we also allow you your privacy. Our neighborhood is peaceful and quiet. The village of Johnson is a 5 minute drive and home to a grocery/liquor store (Sterling Market), 3 restaurants (Johnson's Kitchen Chinese, Downtown Pizzeria, and Moog's Joint), banks, a gas station, a post office, two salons, an adorable book store (Ebeneezer Books), an art store (Studio Store), Johnson Woolen Mills, and Butternut Mountain Farm (good for local food, crafts, and other products). The Vermont Studio Center is home to world-renowned artists who come for month-long residencies and often hold lectures and art openings. Northern Vermont University is a five-minute drive and offers an array of arts performances at Dibden Center for the Arts. They also offer a wonderful library, gym and indoor pool (day passes available- ask me for details). Their dining hall is open to the public and offers a great variety, including vegan options and locally grown produce. The Rail Trail runs through town and is a fun way to experience the landscape and walk or bike to neighboring towns. The VAST trail is available right down the road for walking or snowmobiling in the winter. The only way to access the place is by car. Please pull in and park all the way to the right in front of the Air B and B sign, facing the backyard. Please note that while dogs are allowed, we require that you notify us in advance if you are planning to bring your pet. There is a $25 extra cleaning charge per dog. We have a male border collie (Luke) and a friendly male cat (Frank) that roam the property.
