The beach can get pretty rocky (but it's just as you are entering the water), so water shoes are recommended. There's also the opportunity for beach walks and parts of that walk can be obstructed by a palm tree or two you might need to walk over, so the shoes will be helpful there as well. Take a short 5-minute drive to the town of Patillas and dine in one of their beachfront restaurants with stunning views of the Caribbean ocean or fulfill the thrill-seeker in you and check out some of the local water sports rentals. There are also endless options for short days trips to Charco Azul, Punta Tuna lighthouse, El Hippie waterfall, Coamo Thermal hot springs, Salinas or take a stroll on the streets of the historical city of Ponce We recommend renting a car at the airport since access to transportation near the villa is limited and the island has so many beautiful and interesting places to visit. Our villa is located in a secluded and gated community situated at the center of a 3-mile picturesque crescent-shaped beach, perfect for couples and families. You'll see native parrots, hermit crabs, sand dollars, blue starfish and if you're lucky, may even spot wild horses roaming the beach. Make use of the outdoor grill and pick up some fresh fish from the fisherman at the nearby Arroyo Malecon. Don't feel like cooking? Order take-out from "El Tenedor de Mario" in Patillas or "Rene BBQ" in Arroyo- both offering delicious, local cuisine and located only a 5-minute drive away.
