Kihei Town is the ideal area if you want a low-key vacation. There are some of the best beaches on Maui in this area and they are rarely crowded. Kihei is a mix of locals, retirees and vacationers. It's centrally located to everything on Maui. The bus stops right outside the resort and there's two parks and at least three beaches across the street-Charley Young Beach, Kamaole Beach I, II and III, Cove Park and Kalama Park.
