It is situated on a 16-mile-long peninsula that is surrounded by a lagoon on one side and the Caribbean Sea on the other. It is much smaller, less congested and more laid back than Ambergris Caye/San Pedro. Being inland, Placencia provides easy access to many activities on the mainland like Mayan Ruins, waterfalls, ziplining and cave tubing to name a few. GETTING FROM THE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO VILLA JAMMIN’ GECKO All international flights into and out of Belize are serviced through the Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport (BZE), located northwest of Belize City. Your concierge will assist with arranging domestic transportation from BZE to Placencia. There are two options: - Travel by plane on a local commuter flight from the airport (BZE) to the Placencia Airstrip (PLJ). Flight time is approximately 30 minutes. Once in Placencia, our staff will pick you up and take you to the villa. Our concierge will work with you to book the local flights as soon as you have your international flights ready. - Travel by private shuttle van from BZE, where the driver will meet you outside of baggage claim.
