Coral Bayside is located only 100 feet above Coral Bay and your wraparound deck commands incredible 220 degree views of dozens of boats anchored just below you. Your complimentary Welcome Basket includes Two-1 liter bottles of Le Bleu water, coffee, tea, sugar in the raw/splenda, milk, homemade mango-coconut or banana bread for your first breakfast. After that you will need to provide your own breakfast but we will provide you with coffee and tea throughout your stay with us. SEE ROOM SERVICE BELOW. Please note that the water at Coral Bayside is collected from rainwater that is treated with a dual filtration system then ultra violet light for maximum purification. Or, for those who prefer a more natural experience, the room has 2 sliding glass doors with screens, 2 screened windows and a ceiling fan. It is furnished with a king size bed with a Deluxe Seely Posturpedic mattress covered with a pillow soft mattress cover and super soft 500 count Pima cotton sheets and 4 deluxe soft king size down pillows. It also has a 5’ lighted slate and copper waterfall inside the studio that's on a timer so you can fall asleep listening to the gentle sounds of the water fall. For those who like to sleep late, your studio is equipped with light reducing mini blinds. Laundry wash, dry and fold service is available at $20 per load. Instead every home has a self contained sewage treatment system. You will have exclusive and private access to your luxury studio apartment via an outside lit stairway onto your private outside wrap around deck. Your studio apartment is located on it's own private downstairs level with no neighbors on either side for your total privacy. Your hosts live on the upper level and will completely respect your privacy and will only interact with you as and when you request. THE NEIGHBORHOOD: Coral Bay has a more laid back and less commercial vibe than Cruz Bay. We have a much slower, “no worries” attitude with locals and tourists alike so take your time, relax and enjoy everything and everyone. Island culture dictates the courtesy of starting any conversation with a simple Good Morning, Good Afternoon or Good Evening. Not to do so is considered rude. Good manners are still held dear to those who live here and goes a long way. Locals tend to be very conservative so please be respectful and do not wear your bathing suits in public except when you're on the beach. LOCATION: Coral BaySide has a fabulous location in the “center” of Coral Bay. Dolphin Grocery Store is a 5 minute walk as is Crabby’s Watersports rentals, the Cocoloba shopping arcade and several great restaurants. Head in ANY direction & it’s a short drive to one mind boggling beach after another. You are also a very short drive to a number of the well-maintained National Park hiking trails. At the end of the day –Enjoy Coral Bayside Room Service delivered right to your deck for a private romantic dinner or head out to dinner in Coral Bay. Just a 5 minute walk in one direction are Johnny Lime and Salty Mongoose. A 10 minute walk down the road is Rhumblines Grill and the world famous Skinny Leg’s Bar and Grill for the absolutely best burgers in paradise. All of the above have designated parking should you wish to drive. Check these local restaurants for their schedule of live music by local musicians and their summer closing schedules. While Coral Bayside is only a 1 minute walk to the main bus line, in order to make the most of your St. John vacation, we highly recommend renting a car and 4 WHEEL DRIVE IS HIGHLY SUGGESTED. There are about 10 very small locally owned car rental business here on St. John to choose from or if you don't want to pay full price and want to save some money, we have a really nice Jeep 2 door hardtop (with soft roll back)Wrangler 4WD, see picture, available for rent directly from your hosts at only $65.00 per day including insurance, 4 day minimum consecutive rental, with a $300.00 cash damage deposit and a $50 cleaning fee. If you choose not to rent directly from us, we recommend Budget at the STT airport (NOT Havensight mall). If you rent at the STT airport, please note that the last Car ferry leaves STT at 6:30 PM. Plan to be at the car ferry dock by 5:30 PM. It’s at least a 30 minute drive from the airport to the car ferry so plan accordingly and leave yourself plenty of time so you don’t miss the last car ferry to St. John. Also the first car ferry to leave St. John on your departure to St. Thomas leaves St. John at 6:00 most days so you if you've rented your vehicle on St. Thomas and have an early departure flight you may find yourself pressed for time to make your flight. If you are not renting our vehicle we will provide you with driving directions from Cruz Bay to Coral Bayside. It’s a 30 minute easy drive from Cruz Bay over the island to Coral Bay and especially beautiful if you take the beach road through the National Park. Coral BaySide is located on a paved road with paved driveway and gravel parking area with designated guest parking space. PLEASE NOTE: 2 of St. John’s gas stations are located in Cruz Bay, on the other side of the island, and Mid-Way Gas Station on Centerline, so always be mindful of your fuel gauge and never let your tank get below 1/4 full. If VERIZON is your cell phone carrier PLEASE NOTE, that in the Virgin Islands you will ALWAYS be on INTERNATIONAL ROAMING RATES, which can add up to HUNDREDS of $$$ during your visit. Our advise is to contact VERIZON and request the unlock codes for your phones. You will need these codes in order to unlock your phone to accept a local pre-paid SIM card which we have for rent at $10/week for the card ONLY. Once you install the local ATT SIM card in your unlocked phone you will have to purchase a pre-paid phone card at our local mini mart or you can purchase a pre-pay plan for unlimited talk and text for only $2.00/day. Please contact your cell phone carrier prior to arrival to ensure service rates from St. John. AlSO NOTE: Cellular service is not available using ANY carrier in a number of areas on St. John, so check before you book your stay with anyone else or you may have to drive to find cell service. ATM’S: There is only 1 ATM located on this side of the island at Dolphin Market. And, not only does it not always work, but it has a $100.00 maximum limit per day. Located in Cruz Bay is an ATM at Banco Popular very near the passenger ferry. There are also 2 ATM’s located at The Market Place – First Bank & Starfish Market. Finally, there is 1 ATM located in Mongoose Junction shopping center. You may wish to pick up some cash before you head this way. Credit Cards are widely accepted, but not by many small, local vendors.
