We encourage you to respectfully enjoy our property however please no loud and boisterous parties, thank you. This is a NO SMOKING property. No smoking is allowed any where upon the property. Use of the pool, hot tub and dry sauna are private when reserved via our shared calendar. Mahalo! Pualani Hale is approximately 2000 square feet and overlooks views of Haleakala Ranch and west Maui. The rooms are on the small side but the space is large and the views are breathtaking. This 3/2 is attached but completely private from the owners wing. This area of Hawaii is special and unique. It is a very different experience, one of the mountain. We are on 2.5 acres and nestled upon the slopes of Haleakala (meaning house of the sun in Hawaiian). The summit of Haleakala is at 10,023 ft and is a must see while on Maui. We are at approximately 3000 ft and surrounded by cattle ranches and forrest. Hiking and mountain biking trails are near by. Wild pheasant, deer, pigs and Pueo (hawaiian owl) are often seen. This is a very special place on Maui and only really described by being here in person. We are approximately a 10 minute drive to shops and restaurants in historic Makawao town, 25 minutes from Paia town, Baldwin Beach Park and 30 minutes from the airport. Mahalo! Our guests are welcome to use the swimming pool, hot tub and dry sauna at will according to our house rules. Guests may also wander the sprawling property planted with many aromatic plants such as Rose Geranium, Lemon Verbena, Lemon Grass, Rosemary and others. There are also Avocados, Lemons and limes for our guests to enjoy when in season. Because of the natural beauty and peace afforded by this amazing place we encourage you feel that solitude and to please respect the same of others. We are however excited to meet our guests and get to know each other. It becomes a more personal experience for all parties. Of course if you want to be private please do, we are always available to answer any questions or to help in anyway. Just text or call. Upcountry Maui is all about ranching and farming. You will be only 8 min from the historic Paniolo (Hawaiian Cowboy) town of Makawao with stores and restaurants. 20 minutes from the town of Paia or Haiku and 30 minutes to Baldwin beach park. The Shops of Wailea are 60 min. and the nicest (in my opinion) beach is Makena (Big Beach) only 75 min. There are hiking trails 2 minutes up the road and a mountain bike rental shop in Makawao renting bikes to explore the trails in Makawao Forest. Our property is up a winding two lane road which many bicyclists use, however renting a car is really the only way to see all of what Maui offers. You can reserve your private time as desired or leave a note “all welcome “ if you don’t mind company. We do attract a lot of honeymooners and couples celebrating anniversaries, so it is our intent to offer each of our guests the same opportunity to experience the peace, tranquility and romance that our property offers. As you will learn, sound travels incredibly far up here so please keep your voice low while outside. And please no business calls poolside.
