The mansion includes a 20 kw emergency generator with fuel to run at full capacity for five days. The property also include 1000 gal water cistern in case it is needed for a spectacular stay. We highly recommend hiking boots for walking the Hacienda. At the property, you will find hiking sticks you can borrow. It is a great workout and chance to really experience nature at its full glory. The town of Lares is just 15-20 minutes away with its rich cultural plaza, surrounding museums, attractions, local restaurants, some fast foods, and even a Walgreens. Hacienda Lealtad, a restored 19th century Puerto Rican coffee plantation that offers tours, coffee tasting, and a great restaurant, is 15 minutes away. The 'Heladería El Grito' is renowned for its tasty ice creams in many creative flavors is nearby in the Lares town square. An education farm tour in a cacao farm is 30 minutes away. A little further away are many other attractions such as zip-lining, waterfalls, caves, a world-renowned observatory, and much more. Beaches are only an hour away. Casa Serena is almost a 2-hour drive from San Juan. A car is a necessity in the mountains, and 4-wheel drive is ideal. Roads are not clearly marked but the GPS is reliable in most areas. However, one must be careful while traveling through the curvy roads to reach the property. We are available to provide you with clear directions and even show you the way to and from Casa Serena.
