It’s a short 5 minute drive down to the Townsend Visitor’s Center where you will find great events year round such as the Townsend Balloon Festival, annual Ford Bronco rally, annual Jeep rally, the Bigfoot Festival, and many other wonderful experiences. No worry about the proverbial “cabins on top of cabins.” Nope, this lovely cabin is blissfully private! If we don’t have guests checking out that morning, we may be able to accommodate your request. We often have guests checking in and out the same day and we value cleanliness. In those cases, we are unable to offer early check in because it takes every minute of 6 hours to clean & do laundry. Please note our policies. In particular, no pets and no indoor smoking or vaping. You are free to smoke on either of the open decks (not on the screened deck). The roads are all paved, including the driveway and parking areas. There are some mountain roads, but they’re not bad at all compared with many in our area. You must have a vehicle. There are no taxis, UBERs, or any other public transportation in this area. Your host, Jeanne, and her husband Ben, are available by Airbnb messaging most anytime. We live here in the Smoky Mountains about 45 minutes away. We or one of our team members are available for non-emergency needs between 10am and 4pm most days. Please message or call for emergency needs at other times. This is a quiet, private area of Townsend Parking for several cars. Two-car garage. And, if you think you will get around with public transit, Uber, Lyft, taxis, etc., you will be out of luck in this rural area. If you don't have your own motorized transport, you will likely be walking. Are there any bugs? -- This cabin is in the woods. That means we have invaded the territory of critters and bugs, not the other way around. We have regular pest control to help keep them out of the house. They do live in the woods. If you get freaked out by one spider or a dead roach, please do not stay here or anywhere in the Smokies for that matter. With the highly unlikely exception of a major infestation, no refund will be given if you encounter bugs or other critters.
