Please note, this home does not have high speed internet. Upload and download speeds are very slow, so streaming is impossible. If you need the use of the internet for work or studies - this will not meet your needs. Your space in the wine country is a 400 sq. ft guest house above a detached garage in very rural Eugene. Some have likened it to an Italian Villa. Private staired outside entrance, 1 queen bedroom, 1 queen sofa bed, full size refrig, "box" stove & oven, 1 bathroom. There is a small woodstove for extra heat in the winter, wood provided for you. Views of the valley from private south facing deck. Bistro table for outside dining as well as 2 comfy chairs for relaxing. Quiet, dark star-filled skies in virtual quiet. The living space is one large room with kitchen, dining and relaxation area, also where the sofa bed is located. There is a separate bedroom where the bathroom is located. Large closet space as well. Water is from our well and is very tasty. Fresh eggs available from our organic chickens in the late Spring and Summer. Just 1.5 miles down the road are two wineries - Silvan Ridge & Sweet Cheeks. A few miles further is the acclaimed King Estates. It's about a 20 minute drive to almost anywhere in Eugene. We can arrange and recommend dining locations for you. If it's quiet you are seeking, you will find it here - a great place to unplug. You may just find yourself sleeping, relaxing, walking, reading, and never missing the outside world! You have access to the entire apartment and the trails, labyrinth, prayer wheels and center court area where you can also play Bocce Ball. Relax in the shade under the big oak - the coolest spot to be in times of hot weather. One of us will be available for the majority of time you are here. Feel free to ring the ship's bell outside the front door so we might get your needs met. There is an upscale neighborhood "above" us and we live in a very private space down the hill from our neighbors. So, when you come here, you drive through this neighborhood, then you "drop down " over the hill to your own private universe. We are several miles from public transportation in a very rural environment. You will definitely need your own vehicle. Also, cell phone coverage can be spotty, Verizon having the best signal. AGAIN - A reminder that internet is slow and intermittent speed slowdowns make work and study difficult. It is very dark and almost absolutely quiet here. Star gazing is a great evening pursuit. Of course, we have indoor and outdoor lighting, but request it be off as you turn in for the night! Also, our well, though consistent, has a very low flow rate. As a result, we request you monitor your water usage - as in short showers, not letting the water run while brushing your teeth - a myriad of ways to be conservative. Thank you very much!
