Have you ever wanted see the raw force and power of a volcanic eruption, the splendor of a pristine Hawaiian black sand beach or stunning waterfalls? Maybe you’ve dreamed of listening to the sounds of the rainforest with the surf in the background at night. Well dreams do come true. Join us for an authentic Hawaiian vacation that you will never forget. Ala Kai Bed and Breakfast is the perfect base for couples and groups, and we are conveniently located near Volcanoes National Park, waterfalls, rainbows, black sand beaches and stunning rainforest. Let us introduce you to Puna’s warm aloha and a hidden Hawaii that most will never see. Ala Kai in Hawaiian, means road by the sea. Once you see our beautiful bed and breakfast, you will understand why we chose that name. Enjoy our two bedroom suite, which includes the Aloha Room, the Turtle Room and a full private bath. The Aloha Suite is located on the upper main level and includes The Turtle Room has a queen size bed, chair futon, and flatscreen TV. The Aloha Room offers Hawaiian ambiance and features a king size bed and flatscreen TV. There is a microwave air-conditioning, picnic hamper, coffee maker, private sitting area with a view of the lush jungle garden. The rooms have a private entrance to the lanai. We are located on Hawaii Island's Eastern Puna District, on gorgeous Kaloli Point on Paradise Ala Kai Drive. Some would argue we have the best weather on the island. Kaloli Point is called the Blue Hole because it is often sunny here while other areas in East Hawaii are raining. Our windward trade winds keep us five to eight degrees cooler than Kona. Rarely do we have vog (volcano fog). Ala Kai Bed and Breakfast is in one of the best neighborhoods in East Hawaii and right across the street from the water. Kaloli Point has a stunning trail that starts a few houses away. Suzy and I often walk out on the point to look down at 25 foot cliffs and watch often large surf break. We have a lot of large green sea turtles here and whale watching season is November to April. The neighborhood has a whale watch and we all text each other to alert each other of whales. Many of our guests take a morning stroll down Paradise Ala Kai Drive past large water front homes. There is a pair of endangered nene (Hawaiian Geese) that have made the area their home. We have some of the best star gazing here with no light pollution. We are 30 minutes to Hilo's beaches, waterfalls, wonderful restaurants, vibrant Bayfront business district, the Hilo Farmer's Market. We are 40 minutes to Kilauea Volcano. The charming town of Pahoa is 20 minutes and stunning Kehena Beach with its back sand and iconic palms is about 30 minutes. We are 20 minutes from fine dinning and grocery stores. There is plenty of parking onsite at Ala Kai Bed and Breakfast. The suite includes a king bedroom, a queen bedroom and a private bathroom. Suite is a private separate unit in the main house with a separate entrance and has a private sitting area with a view of our jungle yard.
