Our modern home is just 8 miles to Jay Peak. We have long range mountain views, you can check if the tram is running and enjoy exquisite sunsets all from the couch. The loft upstairs has an open floor plan with a comfortable living space, bathroom and platform bed, where you can view Jay Peak conditions. We now have Starlink high speed internet. There are 8 private acres half woods half open meadow feel free to walk around the property and enjoy the quiet sounds of nature. Our home includes two private bedrooms, a full bath, kitchen, living room and dining room downstairs. Upstairs the loft has one bed, full bath, tv and two couches. There is also a deck. My home can only accommodate a total of 6 guest. Young children are considered guest. Please message me if you have any questions about this. The kitchen is equipped with all basic cooking tools and spices. We provide WIFI, TV, DVDs, board games to choose from, as well as a record player. My younger brother Justin is a local chef and snowboarder. He rents the basement apartment from us and is very knowledgeable about the area. His apt is a separate space. You will NOT SHARE any common spaces with him in the house, other then the driveway. You might not see him as he is very busy, and has a separate entrance. He is a friendly person and has a sweet dog named Fraya. If you do happen to see him ask him about his healing Chaga tea that he makes from mushrooms he forages locally. Though my brother has a dog in his apartment no animals are permitted in the main house to accommodate people with allergies. Like most places in Vermont we live on a dirt road, we recommend AWD or 4x4 vehicles in the winter and mud season. Cell service can be spotty upon arrival though we do have reception at the house. We recommend taking a look at our notes on directions. Please make yourself at home. There is a special unspoken beauty here compared to other ski towns. When you first roll into town you'll see there are no billboards, no strip malls, no chain restaurants, no suburbs. There is a strong sense of independence in the local people, and an instinct to survive in the natural elements. This setting creates a common pride and respect shared amongst the local folks and in turn preserves a lot of the natural beauty of the region. If you stick around for a few days you start to notice it. One of my favorite things to do here is just sit on the couch and watch the weather roll over the mountain and move thru the valley. Sometimes at dusk when the sky is clear i'll drive thru the valley and feel like I am in a living painting with a blue sky behind the towering silhouetted mountains, skirted with layers of rolling white snowy hills that are randomly freckled with little homes, illuminated by sometimes a single light, and a trail of smoke coming from a wood burning stove putting out a familiar smell of comfort, warmth, and home. If you're looking for a bit more action and adventure you are very close to down hill skiing, cross country skiing, a water park, indoor climbing, VAST snowmobile trails, hiking, swimming holes, local farms, breweries, yoga, bars, restaurants, natural foods store, and more. We will provide you with a detailed list of these places following your booking.
