A homely welcome awaits you at our beautiful villa directly on the beach, in unspoilt North Bali. The villa staff will cook and clean for you, all you have to do is relax and enjoy your holiday. The villa on Bali's north coast meets the needs of solitude and serenity, supported by Balinese manners and hospitality. Equally, the villa has good infrastructure and communications - such as frequent international flights and the Internet - but moreover an excellent climate and a beach location! You will be attracted by Balinese culture and simplicity, both in architectural design and style of living. The villa is buka style (meaning open) with a traditional, high thatched roof and free to enjoy the moderate climate. It can accommodate 8 guests in four double bedrooms, all with air conditioning and en-suite bathrooms. The sweeping staircase leads to the 4th bedroom and balcony and enjoys an impressive open vista of the sea. Two bathrooms are Balinese-style, which are half indoor/outdoor allowing one to absorb Nature's beauty whilst also preserving privacy. The villa's floor area is some 460 sq m (5000 sq ft), and occupies about one quarter of the tropical garden area. A large open plan lounge (no air-conditioning use in the lounge as it is too open and breezy) and terrace has commanding views over the Bali Sea. A large "infinity" swimming pool, measuring 18m x 6m (60ft x 20ft) is both suitable for young families as well as the more serious bather, (for safety, children need to be supervised at all times by their parents). Outside living is enhanced by two large bale benongs - simple but comprehensive thatched sunshades furnished with soft mattresses and cushions as well as lighting and power points, perhaps for the laptop addict! The bale benongs provide remarkably relaxing view points to either socialise with friends or to escape into tranquil peace. There are only 2 sunbeds as it is our home, not an hotel. If you wish to brave the strong sunlight and sunburn (as previous guests) then we recommend towels on the grass or beach. Meanwhile, five water features combine to subtly relax and soothe the soul. Internet is provided. Daytime staff include a housekeeper/cook and a gardener, 6 days a week. Our housekeeper is happy to cook and shop for you. The villa is magnificently situated on a quiet stretch of beach with shallow water and seasonal tides. We are surrounded by vineyards and rice fields with a unique view of the mountains of the North. The villa is about 15 minutes drive from Lovina. Here in the North there are still many traditional plantations, waterfalls, temples and villages that perform various trades. Walks in the vicinity of the villa along the beach and beside the fields and temples gives many opportunities for the avid photographer and allows you a window on the life of the still traditional ways of this unspoiled area of Bali. You will often see personal ceremonies being conducted on the beach and at the local temple as well as larger village ceremonies. There are many activities to keep you amused during your stay. Early in the morning, jump on a local boat from our beach to visit the dolphins (sometimes you can see them from the villa). Visit waterfalls, hot springs, and temples. Golf is 45 minutes away as is the botanical garden. Tennis is 20 minutes away. The best diving and snorkelling is at Menjangan Island which can be organised with a local dive centre. You can play badminton and croquet in the garden. Lovina is the place for the best restaurants in North Bali, there are now some new excellent restaurants 10 minutes drive. You can hire a car with a driver for about 700,000 Indonesian Rupiah per day. Alternatively you could rent a small motorbike although driving in Bali can be risky at times! We can help you organise airport transfer and any other trips. We, however, will do all of your pre-holiday communications and arrangements to ensure your stay should be hassle-free Our opinion is that a Bali holiday should be a time to relax and recuperate, however, absorbing the local culture with the occasional day trip is highly recommended. There are no practical local public transportation amenities. However, private transport with a driver is easily arranged.
