Hang your waders, read, write, paint, drink wine, walk the woods, take in breathtaking views 1000 feet above the Yellowstone River in an authentic cabin. Inspiration abounds. You will have the whole cabin to yourself. The antique cook stove was used by Granny but we’ve made your stay infinitely easier (and safer) with a propane two-burner cookstove and a separate heater to keep you cozy. The kitchen is complete with a kettle, French press, coffee, tea, cutlery, cookware, dishes, dish basin, towels, soap etc. The cabin has excellent cell service, battery-powered lanterns, Bluetooth speaker with USB charger, propane heater, super clean outhouse, outdoor shower and a large, covered porch. The twin bed has a comfy brand-new mattress. A luxury airbed-cot with bedding makes a nice bed off the floor for an extra guest. You will find plenty of woods and a few trails to explore. Sunrises and sunsets are often unforgettable painterly displays of color. Granny's is totally private in it's own neck of the woods. We live on the spacious property down a different road. We enjoy people but we do not want to disturb the beauty of quietude which Granny's offers our guests. Simply let us know the level of interaction you desire. You may check-in on your own if you like. We are accessible by phone and will let you know if we are out-of-town at the time of your booking. You will drive by the art studio to access the cabin. Even locals are blown away by the unique views and total mountain woodsy experience our property offers just four miles from town. Deer, elk, moose, bears, mountain lions, rabbits, game birds and songbirds are part of our neighborhood. Our mountainside retreat protects us from the infamous "Livingston wind" and offers scenic views of the Bridgers, the Crazies and the Absaroka Mountains. You will see the Yellowstone river gleam at sunrise in the valley below (two fishing accesses are only 10 minutes away). Yellowstone Park is a 45-minute drive up Paradise Valley. Bozeman is just 25 minutes away. Livingston has exceptional dining, wining, bakeries and breweries (we've authored a booklet for you with local suggestions). While the twinkling lights of town can be viewed from many places on our spacious property, Granny's is tucked into the trees; shady yet plenty of sunlight. Lovely walks and longer hikes are accessible right from your door but of course the river and valley offer limitless adventures. We are outdoor enthusiasts happy to offer advice based on your adventure level and site-seeing preferences. The turnoff to our place is one mile south of Albertsons grocery at Highway 89. Two and a half miles of maintained gravel road ends at our property. You will be able to access Granny’s by car in the summertime. Front-wheel or four-wheel-drive is recommended early spring and late fall due to the elevation gain and possibility of snow off-season. The cabin has drinking water, a pre-chilled cooler and an outdoor "glamping" shower. Solar power lights illuminate the path to the cabin and the outhouse.
