Located in the SoDo district of Bowling Green, formally known as The Jessee Building built in 1890, the recently renovated 511 Flats now boasts 7 upscale apartment spaces featuring modern amenities with an historic flair. This historic mixed-use building , a two story brick masonry structure with beautiful detailing, has been restored with updated commercial spaces on ground floor and apartments above. The restoration of 511 brought original brickwork, timber beams and wood floors back to life while adding modern finishes and amenities in the living, dining and bathing spaces. By curating the new and old, the original character is enhanced by taking advantage of the abundant natural light from the large, restored windows and the elevated ceiling height. A new set of residential balconies and a proposed commercial terrace take advantage of the new Roebuck Square and help knit this historic structure into the public life of the SoDo District. Fully furnished, mostly IKEA furniture, two bedroom apartment with WiFi. Full kitchen with dishes, pots, pans, etc. Exposed brick wall in bedroom with luxury mattress and large walk in closet. You may experience some brick dust during your longer stays - that is completely normal with the nature of the historic building. This urban loft is located in the heart of downtown BG, walkable to WKU and all downtown attractions. This recently renovated / newly furnished 2 bed, 1 bath apartment is packed with extras including free wifi, access controlled security, luxury shower head, washer/dryer, parking, sound deadening construction materials, walking distance to restaurants and of course, the urban setting. Located just 1 block off from "The Square". Aka, Fountain Square Park, center of downtown Bowling Green. Note: This property is meant as a retreat. While we do offer WiFi, there are no TVs provided. We hope you’ll take the opportunity to “unwind & unplug”. Further: We do NOT allow children under 12 due to the historic nature of the building. There are some safety concerns for small children. Please keep that in mind when making your reservation. Jamie is available most hours thru the Airbnb app. "SoDō" is short for South Downtown. Local literature and brochures can be found in the unit's kitchen area for unique places to visit, eat, etc. Located just off Fountain Square in downtown Bowling Green: 0.5 miles from WKU campus 3.5 miles to Lost River Cave 3.9 miles from Beech Bend Park & Raceway 5.3 miles to National Corvette Museum 33 miles to Mammoth Cave National Park 67 miles from Nashville, TN 112 miles to Louisville, KY Free parking on site. Please note, we only allow one vehicle per rental. If you expect additional guests, please check with host for details. Bowling Green does NOT have an elaborate public transportation system. Traveling in your personal vehicle is recommended. There are lyft and uber drivers available locally as well as airport shuttle services. Known primarily as the only place in the U.S. that manufactures Corvettes and for the large ancient cavern that sits in the center of the city, Bowling Green has built a thriving tourist business on cars and caves. At the General Motors Corvette Assembly Plant, visitors can see the step-by-step production of America's favorite sports car. The Corvette Museum includes one-of-a-kind prototypes, that were designed but never manufactured, among other Corvette memorabilia. To view awesome creations made by nature head to the Lost River Valley and Cave. Take the underground boat tour, on the shortest deep river in the world, to see a land formation that is more than 10,000 years old and has been used as shelter by Native Americans and Civil War soldiers. Though Bowling Green never officially left the Union, it's home to a number of historic war landmarks, exquisite old homes and remarkable buildings that can be visited on foot or by car during a leisurely drive through this beautiful part of the country.
