Our cabin is perfectly located in the small mountain town of Buena Vista. It’s a short distance to downtown, South Main, and the gold medal fishing and world class whitewater on the Arkansas River. However, it has a quiet secluded feel and easy access to the hot springs that are just outside of town. You’ll love our cottage because of the well-kept stylish interior, the park-like outdoor space, and great views. It’s an ideal base camp for couples and solo adventurers. The front door opens to the main room that combines your sleeping, dining, and living quarters. It includes a powerful gas wood stove, swamp cooler (a type of a/c for dry climates), dining table, smart TV, queen bed, comfy leather chair, and rustic steer skin rug. There is a storage bed with a memory foam queen mattress, bedding from The Company Store, Pendleton quilt, and medium firm pillows. We also have fast WiFi and a Roku TV so you can watch your apps like Netflix, Amazon, etc. Lastly, there are art pieces from local Rock Run Gallery and black and white photography by the owner throughout the space. The modest bathroom is stocked with organic shampoo, conditioner, and body wash from Alpine Provisions as well as soft linens from The Company Store. It has a toilet, pedestal sink, hair dryer, and stall shower. The kitchenette is equipped with a small fridge, two electric burners, toaster oven, wine glasses, enamelware plates and bowls, various utensils, pots and pans, a set of knives, cleaning supplies etc., as well as a small amount of sugar, s&p, oil, and a few other spices. We have a coffee making kit that includes a Stanley french press, pour over, and a thermos to take your hot coffee with you throughout the day. We also provide coffee from Buena Vista Roastery. There is not a microwave or dishwasher in this simple kitchenette. Outside there is an off-street parking space for one vehicle(no trailers please), as well as a deck with a gas grill and table and chairs to have breakfast in the warm morning sun. The yard is bordered by a small meadow and cottonwood grove and offers beautiful views of the Collegiate Peaks. Also running through our yard is a very small summertime creek to dip your toes into. Crack your window at night. It's wonderful to listen to as you fall asleep. Winter Tree Cabin is a small house with a big welcome! STR-119 Guests have access to the entire property except for our house and the two other out buildings. There is also one off-street parking space (no trailers please) and a private gate to access the property reserved just for guests. We live in a separate home on the property, but we often don’t see our guests. We don’t mind interacting with guests, but we really try to give you your complete privacy whenever possible. You will see we have two dogs in our yard that are separated from the area around the cabin by an “invisible fence.” They will not go into the parking area, entirely cross the creek, or go into the yard and porch on the front side of the cabin. That space is just for guests. While they are very well trained and loving to all humans, they are hunting dogs. So, they will only mind their handler and have an intensity to which most dogs and dog owners are not accustomed. Therefore, we prefer that you stay outside of their boundaries only if you may be uncomfortable around our dogs. While we cannot prohibit service animals, we feel that any animal no matter its level of training, presents an unsafe situation for our animals and our family. We recommend you find safer accommodations for your service animal at another AirBNB. Our property is on the town limits just off West Main Street. So, you are a minute or two to downtown and South Main but with a secluded feel, better views and don’t have to deal with all the noise. The hot springs that are just outside of town are super easy to get to from our cabin. Bikes and walking are the best way to get around town. But everyone has a different idea of what a “short walk” means to them. We walk downtown and to South Main all the time, but some people might find the distance too much to walk or bike. Especially at altitude. So, there is plenty of public parking if you drive. There is no public transportation. It’s a very small town. By car, you could drive from one side of town to the other in a matter of a minute or two.
