This is your quiet, private, premium retreat from the nearby attractions, with covered deck, and your own entrance. You'll sleep just 14 miles from Grand Teton peak. Amenities include laundry, Dish TV, WiFi, microwave, tiny fridge, electric kettle, coffee maker, private bathroom w/ shower, large closet & our signature Adjusta-matic full size bed with wave action massage. Foldaway twin bed upon request makes the room cozy. Convenient wind sock and snow stick too because you never know. Quiet, spotlessly clean comfort after a long scenic drive or active day in the National Parks or Forests is what you'll enjoy here. We travel too, we make this a place we’d love to find. Desk and wi-fi access make a working vacation possible, but the view and the deck & attractions may work against that. Your pets are welcome too, but they must remain under your control per local codes and because wild critters sometimes show up unannounced. There are miles of prime dog (and people) walking country roads right out your door, and we provide an optional cozy pet space on your deck. We have cats in a separate part of the house and sometimes outside, and you may hear our dove cooing. In the summer, we'll sometimes be out gardening, and each day Bruce, the Teton Valley Weatherman, goes out back to make his measurements. Other than that, you may not even know we're here unless you message us or say hi as we come and go. You will be surrounded by beautiful agricultural land just a 10 minute drive from the city that sleeps, the quaint and friendly mountain town of Driggs, Idaho. The Caribou-Targhee National Forest is all around you. It's a thrilling 45 minute drive over Teton Pass, weather permitting, to famous and infamous Jackson Hole, Wyoming. A 40 mile drive will put you in the heart of Grand Teton National Park, and a beautiful 95 miles will have you at the west entrance of Yellowstone National Park. Check with the parks for opening and conditions. World famous GRAND TARGHEE RESORT is an 11 mile drive away; you can see the ski lifts from your window. Teton Village at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, and Snow King are less than 40 miles away over Teton Pass. Hiking, cross country skiing and snow shoeing opportunities of all levels abound, from leisurely strolls to rigorous climbs. In summer, feel free to wander back to the garden, but watch your step, a rock, hose, or stray garden tool often finds its way to the walkway. Beyond the garden is the beautiful Labyrinth of the Tetons, the perfect place for a quiet scenic stroll. But kids love to run through it too. Even in the summer, mountain weather at over 6200 feet of elevation can get frosty at times. Teton Pass and other main routes are sometimes closed or restricted due to winter weather conditions. We won't intrude, but we are just a message or phone call away if you need anything. Let us know if you're going out in the back country and we'll call for help if you’re overdue. Also, let us know if you wish to be notified of interesting events during your stay like a Northern Lights display or nearby wildlife sightings. Quietly located four miles from the hustle and bustle of Driggs and five miles from the metropolis of Tetonia, you'll enjoy fresh air, peace, and quiet surrounded by agricultural land with that breathtaking Grand Teton view. A very convenient and comfortable base for the nearby outdoor recreation, major ski resorts, National Parks and National Forests. There is little public transportation in the area. You will need your own car, horse, or sleigh to get around. Drives, long and short, are breathtakingly beautiful. When it snows, roads are USUALLY plowed promptly, but snow tires, four wheel drive, and good winter driving skills are often essential in this high mountain valley October through May. You may see some of the most amazing sunrises and sunsets you have ever seen, alpenglow and other atmospheric optics if you're lucky, and night skies with more stars than you can imagine. Distant coyotes can be heard yipping some nights, or a hooting owl. On rare occasions, the Northern Lights are visible. Moose, deer, elk, foxes, weasels, porcupines, skunks, eagles, geese, and hawks have all been spotted from Room With A View. In the summer, take a quiet stroll thorough our Labyrinth of the Tetons, a 60 foot classical stone labyrinth which draws visitors from all over the country and is listed in the Worldwide Labyrinth Locator. (Not maintained in winter.) We are not strictly handicapped accessible with 2 steps up to your front door. Floors may be slippery when wet. 250 pound weight limit on the fold away bed and available transport wheelchair.
