Champaign has more restaurants per capita than any city in the country. The historic Virginia Theater (thevirginia.org) offers live performances year round and the famous Ebert Film Festival every spring. There are also numerous live music venues and clubs. Our historic Art Theater (www.thearttheater.org) features independent films from around the world. Champaign’s beautiful West Side Park is three short blocks away, which includes the “Prayer for Rain” sculpture and fountain by Edward Kemeys (the sculptor famous for the lions at the entrance to The Art Institute of Chicago).
