Located in the heart of the beautiful Black Hills, in legendary Sturgis, SD. Easy driving to many of the area's attractions: Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse, historical Deadwood, Custer State Park, skiing, snowmobiling, biking and hiking trails. Weekly and monthly discounts available. Small, comfortable, older home in quiet neighborhood. Within easy walking or driving distance to local restaurants, grocery and convenience stores, walking/bicycling trails, parks. Guests will have access to and use of kitchen, dining area, living room, washer and dryer (upon request). The one bathroom in home is shared. Help yourself to light snacks upon arrival; breakfast will be available each morning: cereal, fruits, pastries, milk, juice and coffee. If you have specific food preferences, allergies or intolerances, I am happy to accommodate if possible. I may not be home much, but when I am, I am happy to visit as much or as little as you prefer, respecting your privacy and also being more than willing to visit about the area and provide recommendations for activities and places to eat. I will sit and have a conversation with you or I will let you do your own thing. Very flexible! I generally go to work early in the morning (Monday through Friday), so during the week I get up and leave the house at about 5:30am. I may be able to provide limited transportation around Sturgis, or to and from Rapid City, if needed. With the exception of the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally (the first week of August), Sturgis is a very small, rural, quiet town. If you enjoy the outdoors, there are many hiking, biking, and walking trails in the area. Bear Butte State Park and lake is very close by. The Fort Meade VA Hospital and the National Cemetery are also within a few miles of my house. On-street parking available. Garage available for guests with motorcycles. There is one dog (Kemah) and one cat (Soleil) in the home. The dog will be in the common areas of the house, but is not allowed in the guest bedroom. The cat will likely be in the basement and will not be bothersome, though if you have allergies to either dogs or cats, you may be more comfortable staying elsewhere. I have a TV and DVD player in the living room which guests are more than welcome to use to watch movies, however, I do not have cable or satellite TV. I do not have central air conditioning, however I do have two window AC units, one in the guest bedroom and one in the living room.
