Large 3 bedroom, 2 bath condo, one of the only large family condos at Napili Beach. The unit is perfect for 6 people, but can easily accommodate 8 with the sofa sleeper. Balconies or patios allow plenty of space to spread out, full kitchen, washer/dryer, and covered patio. There is a community pool and hot tub, as well as 2 BBQs. While others are driving around trying to find a place to park to enjoy the highly coveted Napili Bay you can walk from your house to the beach in 1 minute! Since my family and I can't be there to enjoy our Maui home my goal is to make sure you do. I will be available to answer any questions during your stay from the mainland. I have been traveling to Maui and staying at our family condo there for nearly 20 years so I can provide lots of insight and recommendations. There is also on-island management and maintenance available should you need anything for the unit while you are there. Aside from Napili Beach there is great snorkeling a short walk to the north at Kapalua Bay and to the south at Honokeana Bay. Sealife is abundant - you won't be able to go a day without seeing green sea turtles or humpback whales (in the winter of course). If you're looking for adventure there are often waves large enough to boogie board or surf on the outer edge of the bay and you can stand-up paddle board within the protected waters of the bay as far out as you care to challenge yourself. Napili Bay typically provides the unique opportunity to experience a protected "traveler friendly" shoreline on one end and the true power of the sea on the other (it's amazing to see how this changes from south swell to north swell). If you enjoy golf, The #1 ranked golf course in all of Hawaii is right in our backyard. Kapalua Golf, two world renowned 18-hole courses and home to the first PGA tournament of the year, is located just 5 minutes up the road. Ka'anapali also offers two 18-hole courses just 15 minutes away. There is a grocery store and four local restaurants a 5 minute drive away, and 4 restaurants within a 5 minute walk. There are also shops to rent boards, snorkels, etc. or pick up a shave ice within a 2 minute walk from the condo or Napili Beach. To the south: Ka'anapali Beach is 15 minutes away, with lots of shopping at Whaler's Village and a number of restaurants and nightlife. Lahaina town, once the royal center of Hawaii and the capital of the pacific whaling fleet, is 20 minutes away and offers lots of food, shopping, activities, and Hawaiian history. To the north: One of Hawaii's remaining prized undeveloped places, Honolua Bay, is just a few minutes up the road. Honolua Bay is a famed snorkeling spot and has one of the finest surf breaks in the world. About 20 minutes further away from civilization you will find Nakalele blowhole and the heart-shaped rock (this requires a bit of a hike, but there are usually kama'aina selling delicious drinks and snacks at the top of the hill when you get done!) Local craftsmen often sell beautiful wood carvings along this road, so if you want a truly Hawaiian souvenir this is the place to get it and see it made! Other activites nearby: hiking, horseback riding, zip-lining, scuba diving, spas, spearfishing, sailing - the list of things to do within a 20 minute drive from our condo is almost endless. There is a local bus route that runs along Lower Hanoapi'ilani Rd in front of the complex that will get you to Ka'anapali and Lahaina if you don't want to drive. There is plenty of pedestrian traffic and the area is very safe, but the main road is very narrow and there are no sidewalks so be cautious if you walk anywhere. I recommend walking on the beach instead of the street to get to any of the local spots. Phone reception is OK in the area and should be good enough to get you an Uber or Lyft if you'd like to travel that way. Even though the roads are narrow, driving is pretty easy to get around. Occasionally you will encounter some traffic but just remember the locals say, "Relax, this ain't the mainland." The locals are very used to tourists always getting in their way, but you can make their day by simply pulling off and letting them pass - they will often throw you a "shaka" in thanks! Don't believe it - try it, and watch what happens (one of our little games we play while driving around Maui). It's best to not leave any valuables in your vehicle so you don't create an easy opportunity to have something stolen but the island as a whole is extremely safe.
