Further back on the property there is a small A- frame house beeing rented for two people. A bliss for the soul. Welcome to BAUMHAUS! Private bedroom and shared kitchen + shared bathroom with one other similar living space at the other end of the construction. THE STORY OF BAUMHAUS __________________________________________ At the end of 2021 we fulfilled ourselves the dream of building an independent off-grid living space in the middle of a lush Hawaiian Rain Forest- an oasis of calm. Every piece of this glamping- style, building is hand crafted and made with much love for details and functionality! BAUMHAUS consists of two independent and spacious cabins.The two separate rooms are connected with an expansive wooden deck and a common, fully equipped kitchen plus a luxurious bathroom including a bath tub. In your room you will find a queen sized bed, a puristic piece of furniture for your clothes and a power outlet. This minimalistic design brings you closer to nature again. The feeling of being indulged in nature lets you relax and find inner peace, as the surrounding flora is gently swaying in the wind. In addition to that outdoor living situation you will find a small gym setup below the platform. BAUMHAUS is basically a part of this ecosystem. As it rains the tanks fill up, providing drinking water quality as the collected water runs through a 3- stage filtration process. When the sun is shining this energy is also harvested with our solar system and stored in a battery bank. A real eco- friendly place where natural resources are beeing used sustainably. A system which was established in cooperation with local off- grid experts. THE LOCATION & NATURE __________________________________________ The location is just in the middle between Hilo and Volcano National park, both within a distance of 20 miles. The Hilo area offers pristine beaches, a lush flora and fauna to discover and the opportunity for surfing! Meanwhile in the other direction in Volcano National Park you can watch one of the most active volcanos worldwide, spectacularly releasing lava to the earths surface. The road leading to the property is paved. The place provides a very calm surrounding with very little traffic. After you park your vehicle you will walk on a trail that is partially graveled but also makes use of the naturally available lava slabs, (approximately 150ft trail) until you reach the treehouse, which is 11 feet high in the air. The entrance of the BAUMHAUS is a spacious staircase that leads to a big trapdoor, which is hydraulically supported to let you be able to enter your vacation stay with ease. As you set foot on the deck you enter a whole new world of freedom and nature connectedness, which has a puristic and lighthearted feel to it. Imagine a mystical wood deck on “eye level” with the lush surrounding Hawaiian Rainforest. As you take a look around you will notice a calming green paradise of endemic Ohias and Guava trees, as well as Papaya, Banana and Avocado trees. The forest is also home to a great variety of birds, that can be watched very well, especially from the elevated platform. At nightfall the typically Hawaiian coqui frogs will provide you a private nature concert, especially helpful for falling asleep. Thank you god and everyone that was involved in creating this space. Please be aware that certain points are in your own responsibility and therefore will be no liability taken by the host: There is a roped fence to secure the deck. Please be careful, especially with children as the deck is 11 feet off the ground. Only one person at a time is allowed to be in the “floating net”. Any damages must be reported Each guests have a private deck in front of their own appartment. The rest of the structure is open for a shared use for all guests.
