GENERAL INFORMATION; We offer FREE snorkel gear for 2 people, a FREE 2-person kayak and a FREE SUP (stand up paddle board) - both are inflatable, FREE beach chairs and umbrella for all renters. That alone is worth hundreds of dollars for a typical stay! Eleuthera Vibes is in a perfect location just 3 miles north from Governor's Harbor, the capital, where you have all the essentials such as; bank and ATM, gas stations, food stores, liquor stores, bars and restaurants, coffee shops, boutique shopping, fresh seafood docks, medical facilities, police station, incredible beaches and lots of other attractions, etc. There is free, safe and secure on-site parking. We provide a ton of photos (we take personally – not a hired professional) and specifically caption each image in a very detailed way so you know exactly what you are looking at in and so you are informed on what to expect before you book your stay. If we show a beach for example, we specifically caption the name of the beach and how far it is from our rental. Chris, your on island host and owner of the cottage, provides all of the guests with the option to rent from his fleet of 30 cars and SUVs at a great price specifically for his guests. He will have the vehicle waiting for you at the airport you fly into so you can avoid those steep Taxi fees (over $100 each way in some cases) and you can leave the vehicle at the airport when you leave as well. That alone will save you about $200 roundtrip depending which airport you fly into. We can hook you up with “the swimming pigs”, fishing, sharks, sea turtles, snorkeling and diving, cliff jumping, spearfishing, etc. Our boat and adventure captain is actually the guy who brought the pigs to the island and started the pig craze. He is the best boat captain in all the Bahamas. COTTAGE INFORMATION; Eleuthera Vibes is a free standing air conditioned cottage with a small, but nice grassy yard with woods at the front and back. It is a friendly local Bahamian private road with a gate of about 5 nicely well-kept homes. The unit is bright and airy with fun Caribbean colors and lots of windows to let the natural outside light come into the interior. The cottage has been totally renovated with beautiful hardwood floors, fresh paint, new furnishings and decor and a newly added kitchen. It has free Wi-Fi with a strong signal for your laptop or cell phone. There is a 40" flat screen TV with a Firestick for streaming things like Netflix, Roku, Amazon Prime, etc. It sleeps 2 people (primarily couples) in a good quality bed frame and King Size mattress. It is really geared towards 2 people, but we offer the option of a couple with a small child age 12 and under. Just understand you will all be sleeping in the same bed. We do not allow 3 adults. There is a small, but functional galley style full kitchen. The kitchen is brand new and was just added in March of 2022. There is a two burner cook top, microwave, nice full size toaster oven for baking, mini fridge, kitchen sink and all the kitchen items you need to enjoy meals at home; coffee maker, wine glasses, coffee cups, drinking glasses, plates, bowls, silverware, cutting boards, pots and pans etc. Of course you also have the basics such as; paper towels, dish towel, sponge, dish soap, trash bags, seasonings and salt n pepper. There is a small and cute seating area in the corner of the master bedroom to enjoy meals. There is a semi-covered deck off the front of the cottage with a small table and two chairs for al-fresco outside dining. There is a nice vanity sink with storage and shelves in the en-suite master bathroom area along with a lovely custom tiled walk in shower with a rain shower head in the ceiling. There is a separate toilet closet for privacy. We also provide a hair dryer, soap, shampoo, conditioner, linens, quilts, pillows and pillow cases, beach, hand and bath towels, toilet paper, etc. There are two beach chairs and one beach umbrella also provided. You can see the photos section for a better visualization of the interior and exterior of your unit and also the shoreline with sun deck. Again, please read the photo captions for more details. LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION; We are located just 3 miles from Governor’s Harbor the capital. The location is fantastic for exploring all the way to the southern and northern island tips as you are right in the middle. The island’s best restaurants, bars, beaches and attractions are a 1 - 10 minute drive depending which place you're going. Just to name a few; you have Twin Coves Beach, French Leave Beach, Navy Beach, Airport Beach, Alabaster and Receivers Beach all very close by. Note; both French Leave and Twin Cove Beaches are two of the nicest beaches anywhere in the world and both are about 5 minutes away (see photos). The Sky Beach Club with Pascal’s swim up bar and restaurant is the coolest bar on the island hands down with great food and an amazing beach that's just 1-2 minutes from our cottage and YES you can use the pool at no charge. As for restaurants you have 1648 Restaurant, Tippy’s, Pascal’s, The Deck, Sunset Restaurant and Buccaneer Club, all 5 minutes away, to name a few. Those restaurants are some of the most sought after eateries on the whole island. There are tons of other beaches all with 5-15 miles from us not listed here. There are many more not listed. Some of the best snorkeling on the island and in the world is right across from us about one mile away on the ocean side....just ask Chris your caretaker. You have the world famous Friday Night Fish Fry street festival just 5 minutes away and also Ronnie’s the only real nightclub on the island also just 5 minutes. We are very close to many attractions also like the historical Haynes Library, Leon Levy Preserve, Edwin’s Sea Turtle Lake, etc. The island is 110 miles long with one long road going tip to tip with some very bad pot holes, so it is very important to pick a good home base location otherwise be prepared to do a lot of driving with $6 per gallon gas prices and some flat tires! EXTRA PERKS STAYING WITH US; Chris the owner and your on island host knows everyone and everything about the island and offers a discounted SUV rental as an option during your stay. He can arrange for you a ride from the airport also to avoid expensive taxes. The vehicles are in excellent condition and very nice comparatively speaking on the island. Chris is a very nice local Bahamian and a member of one of the most respected families on the island. He is always there if a guest ever has an issue. If you want tours for fishing, spearfishing, exploring, sea turtles, swimming with the pigs, snorkeling etc. we have the best captain in all of the Bahamas and have been using him for years. Our guests always get first dibs on any trip with him even if he’s busy. There is an outdoor grill, two beach chairs and a beach umbrella. We have a USB charger for your cell phone too. For guests needing laundry facilities, there is a laundromat just 5 minutes away. We offer an awesome 12 page trip planner document that provides tons of very helpful information about which airlines to use, renting vehicles, planning boating tours, swimming with the pigs, how to get to the island, the best beaches, the best bars and restaurants, and other adventures, etc. and that is only for our guests. WARNING ABOUT ELEUTHERA; A quick disclaimer – Eleuthera is not for everyone. There are no McDonalds, no casinos and no Walmarts. It has small food stores that can be poorly stocked and only has one gas station in each little town with high gas prices. The power and internet goes out sometimes for no reason and water pressure can be bad. The roads are pretty bad (although getting better) and you will see more potholes than back home, but far less traffic. You might see a lizard, gecko or ants in a building - and that is all island life. It is not a luxury island catering to the Rich and Famous such as Saint Barts. However, it is an island of charming friendly genuine people with very little crime. You will go back in time 75 years to what a small town was like in rural USA. You will find the world’s most beautiful beaches all to yourself and other incredible natural wonders found nowhere else on Earth. We say this because some travelers do not research where they were headed and expect something very different and then complain about the island which is a case they chose the wrong place to vacation. We personally love Eleuthera for the reason stated above and so do most folks that travel there. IN SUMMARY; Eleuthera Vibes is a superb value, a very cute n cozy rental cottage in an unbeatable location. You will be immersed in a local Bahamian neighborhood and meet the friendly and welcoming people.
