Private Cottage-Posada Santiago w.Kitchen 1-3 pers
Come enjoy our flower-covered private stone cabin on Lake Atitlan, formerly operated as the Posada Santiago! A quick tuk-tuk ride or 10-minute walk from Santiago Atitlan, this property is the perfect getaway to experience nature and enjoy a secluded spot on the lake. The cabin can accommodate three people and is equipped with a private outdoor kitchen where you can cook and grill or simply enjoy a coffee in tranquil mornings and at nights prepare a fire with wine beneath the stars. This is a great place for a mid-term renter. The private cabin includes a queen and a single bed, a wood-burning fireplace, filtered water, a hammock, and a private backyard with an outdoor kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with all cooking essentials (microwave, oven, gas stove, refrigerator, dishware, and utensils). Shared amenities include a lake-front deck with grill, pool, sauna, hot tub, and a yoga room. The cottage, hammock area, and backyard patio with kitchen are available for your private use. The backyard is surrounded by a flowered bamboo fence to guarantee your safety and privacy while you cook or relax. The facilities at the lake are part of a larger HOA (10 houses) and most of the houses are not occupied full time. This allows for your privacy, space, and most importantly, tranquility. Each cabin at the HOA has its own private area, kitchens, and gardens. On the common facilities like the parking lot and walkways the Posada is an open area and can easily practice social distance. The palapa at the beach has social distance guidelines, swimming pool, jacuzzi, and sauna are open to guests by appointment. Because this section is just to explain how they can get in contact with us or the manager upon arrival. I would go more in-depth on those details (how to get the key, etc) Our HOA is a small, friendly community mainly consisting of ex-pats, on the outskirts of Santiago Atitlan. We neighbor the educational center, Puerta Abierta, which we encourage our guests to visit to learn more about a great cause. There are two different ways to get to the Posada. The easiest way to Santiago Atitlan is by ferry from the Panajachel public boat deck. Santiago is about 103 miles (165 km) from Guatemala City along the CA-9 Highway, turn right to RN-11, and follow the signs to Santiago Atitlan. You can take private transportation direct from the city or airport, jump in an airport taxi, Uber, rent a car, hop on a tourist shuttle or a “chicken” bus. We are part of a larger community. We ask that you keep noise down after 9pm to respect our neighbors.
