Welcome to our clean, newly constructed, well-lit and breezy guesthouse in a beautiful tropical setting not far from Cuttington University, Phebe Hospital, and Gbarnga City. We're located about 1/2 mile from Gbarnga-Phebe Highway on the quiet campus of the Gbarnga Lutheran Training Center (GLTC). A deep bore-hole well with filter and chlorination system ensures clean potable water (even for Westerners to drink right from the faucet!). 24-hour security provides personal safety and peace of mind. The Guesthouse has 3 rooms available, each with the same size bed and amenities. This listing is for Room 4. There are two shared bathrooms with flush toilets, showers, and tiled floors. A well-equipped kitchen has a gas cook stove, sink with running (potable) water, and basic cooking and eating utensils and supplies. Your hosts, Amelia and Annie, can arrange additional services for you (for a small charge) including: - meals - laundry - private security - Kpelle dialect translation Guests have a private room with access to common areas like the living/dining room, two shared bathrooms, kitchen, and screened porch. Amelia and Annie will be your Liberian hosts and will interact only as you desire. Your personal room will be private for the entire duration of your stay so they will only enter the guesthouse to clean the "common areas" (unless you request room cleaning). The surrounding environment is rural and tropical. Some of our local villagers have small farm plots on our campus and other nearby villagers have rice farms on adjacent properties. The guesthouse is located on the campus of the new Gbarnga Lutheran Training Center (GLTC) which is a Christian elementary school that just opened in 2017. As is common in Liberia, a motorbike or car taxi can be obtained along the Gbarnga Highway. We are close to Gbarnga where there is a bus transport which can take you to Monrovia, if desired. Private transportation is highly recommended. The guesthouse is located on the campus of an active elementary school, therefore, we kindly request that you do not interfere with the teachers or students during the school day. Classrooms are available for use in the evenings for meetings, small conferences, etc. (for additional fee). Rental fees from the guesthouse will be used to help support the school operations and provide tuition scholarships to our students who live in the nearby village.
