Robinson's Hut is a genuine bungalow with 3 bedrooms, a kitchen and a spacious terrace just a few meters from the sea. It is modest but offers the luxury of calmness and beauty to those who appreciate simplicity and nature. You will be hosted by local people right in the middle of a fishermen's village, which means that you will enjoy both privacy and the liveliness of a vigorous community. On demand, your hosts can offer you food. Booking individual rooms is possible, go to separate listing. All the bedrooms have double beds with mosquito nets and private bathrooms. The bathrooms have toilets and showers, although running water is rare in the village. In the case of water shortage, you will be provided with well water. The kitchen contains plates, dishes, cups and glasses, but cooking happens usually outside, on coal stoves. You can experiment yourself with African ways of cooking, but your hosts also can help you lit a fire or prepare you food if you so wish. The higlight of the house is incontestably its huge terrasse which serves also as an all season living room. You will not need a TV. You can watch the sky and the sea just in front of you. The house is electrified with a solar system, which will not run an AC, but is strong enough to charge your computers and cell phones, to light your rooms at night and sometimes even to cool the fridge. Anyhow you do not need AC when you can enjoy the sea breeze. Your hosts stay in the house or in the nearby, so they are all the time available, should you have any questions or wishes. Bureh is a fishing village with 2 extraordinarily beautiful beaches. From one of the beaches, you can swim to Maroon Island if you are a good swimmer. On the other one, you will find a surfing club. There are several guesthouses and restaurants in the village, but if you prefer to be far away from the touristic side of the place, you will certainly enjoy the calmness of your terasse and front-beach. The long and sandy beach invites the curious for long walks. Alternatively, you can try to convince a fisherman to take you for a boat ride. Bureh is an hour drive from Freetown. There is also public transport for the adventurous. In this case, you take a taxi from Wilbeforce to Jui (5000 le) then a podapoda to Waterloo (3000 le), then again a Taxi to Bureh (7000 le). Once you enter the village by the main road, all you have to do is to walk down towards the beach. Expect to get a bit lost between the scattered houses before you finally arrive to the sea.
