The Taj is open and roomy, each of the five bedrooms with an updated ensuite. Dining is a delight either in the great room or breakfast nook with amazing views of the Caribbean sea. The kitchen is completely renovated and fully supplied. A barbecue is provided for evening fun and entertaining under the stars. On the main deck, under the shade of the palm trees, you will enjoy a 180 degree view of the ocean and volcano. Relax and read by the pool, or play shuffleboard or practice yoga on the upper deck. The community is quiet, friendly and safe. Visit the Montserrat Volcano Observatory to learn about the volcano’s eruption in 1995, and ongoing monitoring. Take a tour into Plymouth (destroyed by the volcano), visit Hilltop Cafe - a tribute to the Beatles era and Air Studios of Montserrat. Explore the many local beaches, extensive hiking trails, lush jungle vegetation, bars and restaurants. It is a photographer’s paradise with rare, beautiful, tropical birds and flowers. We offer free Wifi. You can arrange grocery delivery, airport pickup or car rental with our wonderful on-site manager, at very reasonable rates. Please note that the house is not child-proof and not advised for young children who cannot swim due to the open pool and balconies. Children would require constant supervision. There is an apartment on a separate level with its own access, which may be rented separately. We offer free Wi-fi. Laundry service and cleaning is provided weekly. The Property Manager is available at all times and will arrange separately with you for any other cleanings and laundry during your stay. The Property Manager will be on-island and only a phone call away to help you with any concerns or requirements. Hosts Susan or Pam will be available by email throughout your stay, The house is in Old Towne, a pleasant residential area with many villas. If you like walking, an early morning stroll to the sea along the quiet, hibiscus-lined streets can be idyllic. Go swimming or fishing along the beach or hire a boat to take you for an amazing around island tour - weather permitting. The community is very quiet, friendly and safe. A rental car is recommended and driving is on the left and requires a license. The Property Manager can pick you up at the airport and help make arrangements for a rental car and grocery delivery. All bedrooms are well screened and have fans. Beautiful hot weather may require suntan lotion and bug spray. As throughout the Caribbean, night time peepers mean some guests prefer to bring ear plugs!
