Our property consists of lots of history and family dating back to the early 1900s. Mansa Musa Wally is my late grandfather, a unique king, of the Fula tribe who gained respect and his title in a Fula community. After being overthrown, Musa Wally migrated to Bansang. Musa Wally cultivated mase, was an avid farmer, and a hunter. He was widely known and well liked. Musa Wally hunted empowering him to become a perfectionist in hunting. One day Musa Walley hunted down a hippopotamus. Kerr Njagga our family home is in honor of my late father. The most compassionate and fair humanitarian I could think of. Kerr Njagga ensured the children were respectable, structured, disciplined, and “served a purpose” in life. Education was very important and was a huge part of the morals instilled in the children. Kerr Njagga’s model consisted of God first, family togetherness, and work. This three bedroom home is a reflection of Kerr Njagga’s vision. During your stay at SAMA LODGE you can choose from one of four options. Rental options: 1) KERR NJAGGA is a luxurious fully furnished three bedroom three en suite bathroom family home. The home has a living room, dining room, and kitchen. During your stay you will have access to Wi-Fi, central air conditioning, well water, and an outdoor living space. The full home is $60. 2) KERR NJAGGA, room 1 is a luxurious fully furnished queen sized bedroom en suite bathroom. The home has a living room, dining room, and kitchen. During your stay you will have access to Wi-Fi, central air conditioning, well water, and an outdoor living space. When renting a room you will not have access to the kitchen. Room pricing is $20 per night. 3) KERR NJAGGA, room 2 is a luxurious fully furnished full sized bedroom en suite bathroom. The home has a living room, dining room, and kitchen. During your stay you will have access to Wi-Fi, central air conditioning, well water, and an outdoor living space. When renting a room you will not have access to the kitchen. Room pricing is $20 per night. 4) KERR NJAGGA, room 3 is a luxurious fully furnished full sized bedroom en suite bathroom. The home has a living room, dining room, and kitchen. During your stay you will have access to Wi-Fi, central air conditioning, well water, and an outdoor living space. When renting a room you will not have access to the kitchen. Room pricing is $20 per night. RENTAL RULES: Maximum capacity per room is two (this includes children). NO pets allowed. NO parties or gatherings. NO smoking. Check-in time is 3pm. Check-out time is 10am. **Any violations of our Rental Rules is subject to monetary forfeitures and immediate removal. No exceptions! The area around Sama Lodge is walkable and accessible to the major highlights of the town such as: the hospital, police station, market place, restaurant, fishing, places of worship, and hiking trail. Ample parking is accessible. Our property manager Binta Sama will assist you with any concerns during your stay! Sama Lodge is located on Main Road in Bansang adjacent to the Bansang Police Station making your stay comfortable and safe. Additionally, Sama Lodge is directly across from Bansang Upper Basic School. Ample parking is available outside the compound. There are various modes of transportation including your personal/rental car, local taxi, local bus, and/or walking. This property was previously owned by Musa Wally unknowingly to me (Bamba Sama) during the time of purchase. It was used for farming and resting. Sama Lodge will allow family and visitors to re-live the experiences of my late grandfather consisting of comfort, unity, and love for ALL. The Bansang Police Station is adjacent to the property making your stay comfortable and safe. Sama Lodge has a dedicated security and cleaning service. We ask you please respect our home as if it is yours to prevent forfeiting your stay and possibly monetary fees. Restaurants: You can receive full local meal service from Black Pot Restaurant approximately 700 feet away. Hospital: For any possible medical care you can be cared for at the Bansang Hospital. Police: The Bansang Police Station is adjacent to Sama Lodge. Bodies of water: The River Gambia is roughly 300 feet from Sama Lodge. This body of water is regularly used for local fishing. Places of worship: The Church stands about 100 feet away and the Bansang Mosque is a little under 2 kilometers away. Radio Station: The Bansang Radio Station is the local radio station providing news and music. Janjanbureh also known as MacCarthy Island (Georgetown): This historical island is located on the eastern part of the Gambia River. The island is known for transporting slaves to and from Kunta Kinteh Island. At times the island was known to house liberated slaves. The Bantaba (resting area) was named in honor of Musa Wally. Previously, there was an overgrown but comforting tabo tree where Musa Walley would rest after a long day of farming. The Bantaba is a location you will enjoy through reading, snacking, resting, and/or conversing. The Bantaba will bring you lots of peace and tranquility as you relax on this patio version of outdoor living.
