Built in 2016, after our original home was destroyed in the Jamestown flood 2013, this basement apt. was created to provide housing for aging parents, friends and guests below our primary home. Wonderful, large 800 sq ft, open floor plan apt. However, the acre lot landscaping is still being reconstructed. Pets are allowed. We charge $15/day per pet. Also note, there is no fence on our property. There is a large open space park 300’ away as well as access to USFS 1/4 mile from your door. Hopefully guests will explore the wonderful mountain community of Jamestown. 300' from house is a large park with tennis court, basketball court, playground, volleyball sand court, labyrinth. USFS- trails surround the town. 1000' (center of town) is a smaller park with horseshoe pit across the street from "The Merc". Both parks have a bandshell! Go fishing on the creek. Use the pool table/ping pong table, firepit (no bonfires), trampoline on the property! Our family lives in the main part of the house, upstairs. We are a social family and would love meeting, talking, sharing dinners with you but we do respect guests desires to enjoy this quiet, mountain community in private. Jamestown is a small, eclectic, artist/musician, active, friendly, kid loving, dog loving, mountain town 12 miles from Boulder, surrounded by USFS. Known to the cycling community as the go-to ride destination from Boulder. Hike, mountain bike, cross- country ski, fish the creek for trout, right outside your door. Away from the hustle and bustle but close enough for conveniences. At night the skies illuminate with stars and you fall asleep to the lovely creek. Traffic is minimal, besides the main paved road- during the day-which continues through to the lovely Peak to Peak highway. All other roads are dirt. The town has a post office, church, Town Hall & 1 century old restaurant/bar- The Mercantile aka The Merc. Jamestown has a rich history filled with Native American chiefs to a gold mining historic town to today's 300 person community. The residents are friendly, fun, creative and social. Typically on any given weekend there's an event or something to do in town. Whether it's through our local JAM-Jamestown Artists and Musicians group, or music/dinner at "The Merc". There's is little to no cell service (Verizon can work sometimes) but good high speed internet. Rarely, in Jamestown, is a 4wd needed on main roads- unless your visiting during an awesome snowstorm! It may take a day to get plowed. However if you plan to go upcountry especially during winter you will definitely need good tires and AWD or 4WD. Jamestown is a walking community. No need for transportation if your staying here. Bring a mountain bike, ski's, hiking boots, fishing rods, depending on the season and head outside to one of the many trails.
