Beit Al Fannan (House of the Artist) was the getaway of renowned Jordanian artist and architect, Ammar Khamash. It was here that Ammar painted some of his most significant paintings and gathered an array of the interesting stories, some of which can be found within the villa. The unique architecture, landscape, and views from the balconies make for a memorable trip to the Jordanian countryside. A serene spot, perfect for a romantic weekend, an escape, or a space to be creative. Designed by Ammar Khammash in 1994, Beit Al Fannan was constructed solely by hand. The construction team reverted to traditional methods of building by using mud on the outside walls & cement and limestone on the inside. The construction of the villa also depended heavily upon a cave, which is located near to the kitchen and was used for all the mixing materials needed to craft this rustic villa. The villa seamlessly rises from its surroundings, partly because of its natural exterior colour but also because it adapts to the slope of the hill. The villa consists of an en-suite top floor bedroom with its own balcony…an ideal place to watch the sunset over the Jordan Valley. Guests have private access to Beit Al Fannan. Two out of the three floors will be available for those booking for two guests. The bottom floor is an additional apartment that is rented out for an additional fee. The lower apartment can comfortably sleep two in twin beds or a queen size bed. Do contact us for more information. The villa car park is located some 200 metres from the villa. Hamad, Um Amar, and their children live in the villa some 150 metres from Beit Al Fannan. Hamad and Um Amar will help you check-in and will prepare the breakfast for you the next day. The immediate neighbourhood consists of Hamad and his family, who are there to welcome you to Beit Al Fannan and provide you with breakfast in the morning. The entrance to Beit Al Fannan is through a shared gate and along a short dirt path. The town of Tabqat Fahel can be seen from the balcony, and is a 3 minute drive from the villa. The villa is also 300 metres from a local restaurant. For those wishing to cook at Beit Al Fannan, we advise that they bring ingredients with them...a lot of these can be picked up along the way. Pella is an easy area to walk around. If, however, you are wishing to buy anything then the main village is a 25 minute walk away or a 3 minute car journey. If you wish to cook in the apartment, then we do advise that you bring ingredients with you. Alternatively, there is a quaint little restaurant run by the local community and boasts beautiful views on a large outdoor terrace. Beit Al Fannan is a space that rewards the curious. Think of it as an experience, not an accommodation. The house tells a story, the more curious you are, the more you'll get out of the story. Everything in this house has been placed for you to explore. There are currently limited eating options. There is a great local restaurant located 300 metres from the villa and there is a fully functional kitchen. If you wish to cook then we do advise that you bring some ingredients with you.
