Off-street parking for 2 cars, full apartment with separate keyless entry, 2 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, lots of sunlight. Steps from bus/subway, espresso bars, breweries, restaurants and jogging paths, the perfect base from which to celebrate a graduation, visit colleges or take in a game. Five-minute drive to Longwood Medical area. About 20 min to Fenway Park (car) or TD Garden (subway). Easy bus ride to Museum of Fine Arts, or subway to Freedom Trail. Our sparkling new addition includes two separate spaces. Upstairs: living room, twin bedroom, fold-out queen couch, full kitchen, washer/dryer, dishwasher, 1.5 baths. Downstairs: a large queen bedroom with full bath, mini-fridge, microwave and electric teapot for boiling water. Keyless entry is via personal code. The apartment is attached to our house. We built it for Pauline's parents, so it includes all the comforts of home, including individual A/C and heating units, high-speed internet, and skylights with remotely controlled shades. Ceilings are high and there is lots of natural light. We do whatever it takes to keep this welcoming, spacious apartment well-maintained and sparkling clean. We’ve decorated and equipped it as if for our own use, with hi-speed WI-FI, plenty of kitchen tools, fluffy towels and crisp sheets. The two full bathrooms have heated tile floors. There is a Pak'n'Play crib and a high chair available if you need one. There's a children's playground about 100 yards down the street. All Jamaica Plain’s charming shops, cafés, pubs and diverse restaurants are within easy walking distance of the house; nearby too there are bakeries, a brewery, a library, running and bike paths, parks, Jamaica Pond (actually a 68-acre lake), and Harvard University’s Arboretum, a 280-acre natural preserve and botanical research center in the heart of the city. A car is not necessary to enjoy all the great city of Boston has to offer, but if you drive there is free, off-street parking for two cars. The Green Street stop on the Orange Line of Boston's subway system (we call it the 'T') is just a block away. And bus line #39, a 6-minute walk up the street, will take you to the Longwood Medical area, the Museum of Fine Arts, Copley Square, the Boston Public Garden and Faneuil Hall. Or you can rent a city bicycle either on Center Street or at the “T” station and ride all the way to Back Bay along the Southwest Corridor biking path and jogging park. Guests have the entire apartment to themselves. There is a separate entrance with a code-operated lock. The apartment has high-speed Wi-Fi, flat screen TV and a stacked washer and dryer. There is free off-street parking for two cars next to the house, but you will not really need a car, since restaurants and shops are so close and public transportation is just a block away. We may or may not be in residence during your stay, but we try to respond quickly to all questions sent by email or phone. We strive to be as helpful as we possibly can. The house is perfectly located in Jamaica Plain, one of Boston's hippest neighborhoods. With an eclectic mix of artists, medical professionals, students and young families, Jamaica Plain is known for its many excellent restaurants, cafés, bakeries and bars, a dance and yoga studio, and a walking path around a beautiful pond, all of which within easy walking distance of our home. Also within easy walking distance are Jamaica Plain’s charming shops, a wonderful independent bookstore, two breweries, a library, dedicated running and bike paths, parks, tennis courts, playgrounds and Harvard University’s Arnold Arboretum, a 280-acre natural preserve and botanical research center in the heart of the city. There is even a 68-acre (31 ha.) lake where you can rent a boat when the weather is good. We’ll be happy to offer suggestions and recommendations, especially about our favorite restaurants, as soon as we know your particular interests. The Green Street stop (Orange Line) in Boston's excellent subway system is just a block down the street. And the stop for Bus #39 that goes to Symphony Hall is a 6-minute walk up the street. With public transportation, you can get to the Longwood Medical area, the Boston Marathon finish line, the Museum of Fine Arts, Copley Square, the Boston Public Garden, Faneuil Hall and many of the city's colleges within minutes of leaving our house. Even Logan International Airport is accessible via subway, with just one change. Guests can also reach the house from Logan International Airport using the new bus service from the airport to Copley Square where they can easily hop on to the Orange Line subway that will take them to within a block of our house. You can also rent a city bicycle a block from our house and cycle along the Southwest Corridor Park jogging and biking path. This path passes through Jamaica Plain just steps away from our house and goes all the way to Boston's Back Bay. If you have a car, we offer free off-street parking for two cars next to the house. Rates are higher for parties larger than two and may vary depending on the season. Please be sure to enter the correct number of guests and check the reservation calendar for the base rates on your dates. For the Boston Marathon weekend the minimum stay is 3 nights @$600, flat rate, no additional guest charge. To avoid misunderstandings and ensure excellent communication we ask guest to sign a simple contract.
