Likkle Eden 2, a very comfortable 2 bedroom house, is located in the heart of Treasure Beach, close to the beach (10 min walk) and next to the sports park. It is very peaceful and quiet, both central and well hidden, with a huge garden carrying lots of trees, cacti, flowers, butterflies and hummingbirds. Like an oasis it is the perfect rejuvenating place for families, as well as friends traveling together. The surrounding community, ourselves, and our gentle dogs welcome you in advance :)! Welcome to Likkle Eden 2, your charming holiday hideaway house, situated in an oasis of greenery and peacefulness. The house is sweet and very comfortable, and its architecture makes it blend in nicely with its surrounding natural environment. It is part of a large and quiet yard, full of trees, cacti, flowers and other plants, making it ideal for people loving nature and being into an outdoors vibe. People afraid of lizards, frogs, hummingbirds, butterflies, ... please abstain ;). The house consists of: * 2 bedrooms with a comfortable double bed, one queen size and one king size (each room comes with fully screened windows, a mounted fan & a mosquito net) * 2 bathrooms, one indoors and one outdoors (the indoor bathroom has a shower and a toilet, and comes with fully screened windows ... the outdoor bathroom consists of an outdoor shower and a separate small building with a toilet) * a spacey and well equipped kitchen (large fridge, stove with 2 burners, toaster, coffee maker, cooking utensils, cutlery, plates, ...), with a bar counter opening up to the back verandah * a nicely decorated and colorful living space, consisting of a comfortable dining/sitting space and a cozy reading corner (with standing fan) * large cupboards and other comfortable storage space * a front verandah offering a beautiful distant ocean view, and coming with a hammock for those really relaxing moments * a back verandah surrounded by the back garden, coming with a stone-built BBQ and a bar counter opening up to the kitchen ... the perfect place for chilling out together Likkle Eden 2 is centrally and conveniently located, but at the same time well hidden (at the end of a private lane, used by a few people only). The house is only a 10 minutes walk from 2 different beaches (Calabash Bay and Frenchman Bay), as well as from Treasure Beach's main shops, restaurants and bars. You have the Likkle Eden 2 house at your own and sole disposal, and are free to enter and leave the yard 24/24. Thanks for respecting our own privacy while doing so. The yard is situated next to the sports park, allowing guests who like sports to go and play tennis and basketball, and to watch the occasional cricket and soccer game. If you are looking for a real Jamaican living experience, then Likkle Eden 2 is the perfect spot. We live in another house in the same yard, and love to interact with our guests when our other activities permit. We will be happy to share some time with you to tell you all about your house, our yard, and the Treasure Beach community: where to shop, eat and drink, how to get to the different beaches, where to find the best spots to mingle with the locals, and much more. As a general rule we try to offer our guests the kind of service and interaction we like to get ourselves when traveling. We do our best to make your stay as pleasant as possible, without interfering with your privacy. Thank you for respecting ours. On a practical note: - You can do your own laundry, using our washing machine, in exchange for a small fee depending on the load. - We don't serve food, since Likkle Eden 2's well equipped kitchen allows you to do your own cooking. Far away from the hustle and bustle of some of Jamaica's better known but overdeveloped tourist destinations like Negril or Montego Bay, Likkle Eden is located in one of the few spots on the island that are still left unspoiled: friendly locals, beautiful and nearly empty beaches, nature all around, ... Treasure Beach being the home of community tourism, we consider our guests as friends, not as tourists. Likkle Eden is the ideal place for relaxing, spending time at the beach, reading or writing a book, enjoying some lovely food, discovering the country side, and integrating yourself into the local community of farmers and fisher men. For those guests wanting more action, we offer hiking tours, bike tours, boat tours, and other excursions. In general we assist our guests with any kind of trip they would like to make, be it a visit to a well known tourist attraction (Appleton rum factory, Pelican Bar, YS falls, the Maroons' Accompong town, Port Antonio, ...), or the discovery of a local beauty spot (hike across the reef, exploration of the Bluff, ...). Concerning getting to the house, we will gladly assist you with transport: we can pick you up at the airport, give information on car rental, send road descriptions, explain you how to take public transport, etc. Guests coming with their own car get free and secure parking space at the entrance of the yard. Getting around in our local community is easily done by foot, since everything (beach, shop, bars, ...) is at walking distance. Exploring the whole and greater community of Treasure Beach (consisting of multiple consecutive bays) is really nice when done by scooter or bicycle. We can help you to rent either of them. For guests wanting to use public transport during their stay, we can arrange local taxi and bus rides well. JAMAICAN ENTRY PROTOCOL Due to the Corona virus the Jamaican government developed a mandatory entry protocol, which applies to all guests coming from outside of Jamaica. This protocol, which gets updated regularly, can be found at visitjamaica dot com. Please make sure that you have read and understood the protocol, and that you agree with all its implications before confirming a booking. -------------------- VIRUSES Virus 1: CORONA We have always been paying the greatest attention to Likkle Eden 2’s cleanliness. With the Corona virus in mind, we try to take our philosophy regarding health and hygiene as far as physically possible. Here is how we do this: 1) by following the Airbnb cleaning protocol, adding some extra love and care 2) by following the Jamaican Covid protocol: wearing of face masks, social distancing, hand washing, sanitizing, temperature testing, confinement in the house in case of fever, quarantine, … The following elements further guarantee your good health during your stay and increase your autonomy: 1) our yard comes with a separate guest entrance 2) our housekeeper Kaydean, who will clean your house following the Airbnb protocol prior to your arrival, is fully vaccinated and did not contract Covid 3) during your stay the house comes without staff, avoiding any potential risk of infection 4) the other house in our yard closest to yours is at a distance of about 15 meters, making it perfectly possible to avoid any interaction with its occupying guests 5) my wife Véronique and myself are fully vaccinated and did not contract Covid, and will interact with you upon your wish only (this part is actually the hardest for us, since we love to interact and make your stay as pleasant as possible) 6) our housekeeper will not come into the house during your stay, but should you want to do some cleaning yourself, in the house all necessary cleaning products stand at your disposal. Please be more than welcome … enjoy a relaxed and healthy stay :)! Virus 2: INTOLERANCE As part of our lifelong view on the world, society and life in general, everybody is welcome in Likkle Eden, no matter your gender, religion, skin colour, sexual preference(s), or any other criterion. With only one crucial exception: intolerance. We are aware this can sound quite paradoxical, but at Likkle Eden we are very intolerant towards intolerance, in whichever shape it comes. So, in case you can identify with one or more of the following tags, thanks for looking for accommodation elsewhere: - racist - fascist - homophobic - misogynist - religious fanatic - Trump supporter In case none of the above applies to you, please be more than welcome … one love and peace to you! -------------------- JEWELLERY My wife Véronique creates unique pieces of handmade jewellery (under the moniker of "The Girl and the Magpie") in her workshop in our yard, allowing our guests a glimpse behind the creative process :). PARTIES As a DJ I host a series of parties in Treasure Beach during the tourist season. Be more than welcome to join the vibe :). DOGS We have a big adult dog in the yard, called Akela, and a rapidly growing puppy, called Kaya. Both dogs look impressive, but they are really gentle, immediately becoming loyal friends of all our guests :). GENERAL Should you need any kind of additional information, or should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. Come and experience the magic. One love, Hans
